After a quick look at Kerikeri , which is dig dig in the Maori language. Here are many orchards, gardens and fruit and vegetables. Very lush indeed. We looked at the Stone House and the Mission house whicha re teh oldest buildings built by white man here in New Zealand. Then a flight to Rotorua via Auckland in small DAsh 8 and a Jet stream 3200. We sat right at the front and had a great view as we landed. Now we are settled in at Kawana Lodge, a magical place right on the water edge across teh lake from Rotorua. Far enough away to miss the sulphur smell from the thermal outpourings. We wandered around town this afternoon visiting teh beautifuly manicured grounds of the Governors Gardens, bowling greens and museum. Interesting place, bad smell.
