On the road to ALASKA!

We traveled to Alaska for the first time in June 2010. We took the Alaskan Railroad from Anchorage to Denali for a 3 day stay and then returned to Anchorage where we rented an RV for the remainder of our trip. We explored the Kenai Peninsula and spent some time Halibut fishing in Ninilchik. It was by far one of our best vacations. As a former customer of Great Alaskan Holidays RV rentals, they sent us an offer to join them for their Spring Adventure. Every Spring, GAH purchases new RV from the Winnebago factory in Forest City, Iowa and then need people to drive them up to Anchorage for the new season. You are given 11 days to get there by any route you choose and no roads are forbidden (unlike when you rent during the regular season). GAH offers a very discounted rental price and up to 3999 miles free. You have to purchase your own fuel and pay for your own RV park rentals so there are some costs involved to consider that can get expensive, having said that, you will never get such a bargain on an RV in your life!
Mark’s brother Greg decided to go along with us which helps all of us make this a more affordable trip. So our reservation are made and now we start planning our route, gathering information on RV parks along the way, finding out what we can and cannot take across the border into Canada as well as the entry requirements and just as important, what we need to get back into the US! Now the hard part, waiting the 4 months until we start our journey.
