Thanks
Yes it was an unusual way to spend the morning but very enlightening. Many people have heard of the landmine situation in Cambodia (I seem to remember that Princess Di got involved in a campaign, or was it Bono / Geldorf?) but no-one sems to know about the situation in Laos. They have landmines here as well, but for the moment have decided to leave them and concentrate on the bomb clearance. And then you find out that at the present rate it will take 3,000 years to clear the bombs!!

Green!
Hi Malc Well, you have one envious reader. You'll recall that we met on the Laos and Cambodia trip a couple of years back, and am greatly enjoying the memories your blog is bringing back. Do you remember Christmas night in that tiny village singing carols round a campfire with a French group, drinking BeerLao and enjoying the remarkably cheap Lao whisky? This year I was supposed to be in Jordan, but couldn't get out of Heathrow, so am spending my first Christmas at home in years. Hence the title of this entry. Keep blogging, and I'll hope for some photos. My love to Luang Prabang!
