I will be traveling outside of the U.S. for the first time ever in 2 weeks, going to Cairo, Egypt for my final wedding ceremony. 😊 My husband and I got married in the courthouse June 7th, 2010 and because we did not have a chance to have a real ceremony we are going to Cairo, where his family is to celebrate!

We leave July 6th and will be returning home August 11th.

I am hoping to use this blog to share with my friends and family what my trip is like and also share photos of all of the amazing things I am going to see!

Hope you all enjoy! 😊

Well after a week of mixed emotions, lots of eventful times and an amazing view, I have finally decided what to think of this place called Cairo. Everyday brought up a different emotion for me, some days I was very homesick, other days extremely happy and blissful. Overall, I really do like this place and am so happy I am here! The first thing you notice when you get here is the driving. There are no street regulations and it is a little bit insane, I have pictures of cars less than a foot away from ours, I can literally reach out and touch the other person in the car with the window down. There are no lanes and no crosswalks, people cross the streets at any time they want and its just CRAZY!! You almost ... read more

What a night! Our flight to Moscow was brutal!! I thought that the flight from NY to Moscow was going to be the worst because it was a total of 9 hours, but I was wrong! The flight that was supposed to be 5 hours from Moscow to Cairo turned into a 5 hour delay--on top of the 7 hour layover we already had--with the 5 hours up in the air. They didn't delay the flight until we were already on the plane so we were on a smaller plane than before for 10 hours!!! Needless to say, I was extremely happy when we arrived at Cairo! We arrived to Cairo at 2:30 am, so it was still dark. The view was absolutely amazing! We could see the silhouette of the pyramids from the plane!! It's ... read more

After an amazing New York adventure with our dear friends, we are finally in Moscow, Russia waiting for a connecting flight to Cairo. We have about 5 hours wait which means great opportunity for me to blog! :) We left DFW on Wednesday at 5pm and after a connecting flight in Atlanta made it to NY at 11:30pm. Our flight to Moscow was not until Thursday at 7pm, and so we decided to make it an adventure. We did not rent a hotel, who does that?? that's boring!! :) We ate Egyptian food from a stand in NY, isn't that funny? It was so good. :) We stayed up all night with our friends and walked all around time square, it was AMAZING!! You have to see it for yourself to believe just how bright all ... read more

I have decided to start a blog both before and during my trip to Egypt. As anyone around me can tell you, I am extremely excited about my trip! :) I am also extremely nervous and anxious at the same time. Can you imagine being married for an entire year to someone and never meeting their mother, father or sister? This is the situation I am in and it's got me mixed up in all kinds of emotions! hehe. We are about 85% prepared for our trip and wedding, with some minor details remaining...don't even get me started on packing!! :S I HATE PACKING!! Today my work threw a bridal shower for me, it was awesome!!! :) I received many needed items from my registry, plus cash and giftcards. My team at work is the most ... read more
