I woke up today to the sound of rain. A tropical storm hit southern Thailand earlier in the week, and so the rain hit Chiang Mai today. Due to the rain, we were unable to follow the original schedule for the day, but the program directors were able to find equally exciting and educational activities for us. In the morning, we went back to the Donkaew health center and learned how to make Thai massage compresses. These compresses are made out of turmeric, ginger, lemongrass, keffir lime, salt, and a dash of menthol. They are used during Thai massage to relieve muscle aches and pains, plus they smell really good! For lunch, we went to a little cafe and I tried a Japanese noodle soup that had pork and egg in it.
