I enjoyed reading your articles on your travel log from 2006. My wife and are staying at the Serena Hotel not far from Mnazi Moja hospital. Perhaps I shouldn't say " enjoyed" as your trials and tribulations were quite painful , I am sure.
Get well soon I came across your site looking up information on ciproflaxin. I am a British ex-pat living in Kolkata, India, and my mother is visiting (from Saffron Walden, which is near Cambridge). She took a trip to Varanasi - 15-20 hours by train - and fell ill with diarrhoea and is now in hospital on an intravenous drip and ciproflaxin injections. She didn't have that many bowel movements, but a lot of pain and exhaustion so I advised her to go to a private hospital. She is in a real panic, largely because she is on her own and has to face a long train journey back to Kolkata tomorrow. However, 36 hours of intravenous dehydration and anti-biotics should make her feel well enough to tackle the journey. Last year, she spent three months in South India (where everyone gets an upset stomach from food, including Indians) and never had a problem. I've also been fairly lucky. It just happens by chance and is terrible when it happens. I hope you get better soon.

I think you would be better off seeking hospital treatment in a large city such as Dar-es-Salaam as soon as possible. It seems that you have something more than just travellers' diarrhoea that requires something more than ciproflaxin.
Telephone call We were concerned to hear about your malaria. Hope it can be sorted asap. Not a condition to take casually.
Good news - we are now picking up your pictures OK.
Will phone regularly when you advise how to purchase a card.
Take care, and best wishes to Nuhu. How about a picture of him and the Bishop.

PS Have written to St Bedes and received a response from Mr Matthews. He has passed your details to Kate, the school chaplain. St B is also developing contact with a school in Palestine. Should be interesting.
Stone in Stone Town wow stoney, looks like you're having a great time! really enjoyed seeing the photos, your descriptions are great for building a picture in my mind's eye, although i'm sure nothing is quite like experiencing it all in person! looking forward to some more posts and pictures.
