Delightful story It’s been a delight to read about your trip and stay in Morciglia, Corsica. I am a direct descendant from Morciglians, on my mother’s side, (with surnames as Blasini, Coty, Emmanuelli, … ), who came to Puerto Rico about 120-130 years ago. Now I see why, we “Corsos”, as Puerto Rican descendants from these humble immigrants boldly call ourselves, are so swollen with pride of our Corsican heritage. Thank you for your recount

You visit to Morsiglia Hello Mina, my name is Anselmo Manautou. I was reading about your trip to Morsiglia. You mention visiting a mansion La Masion Americana. I wonder if the last name of the owner was Fantauzzi. My great-grandfather was Geronimo Fantauzzi. He along with his brothers Crusiano and Jose came to Arroyo, Puerto Rico. They eventually returned home. Thank you, Anselmo
Simply Glorious The photos made be remember my days on the trekking. It is certainly a remarkable experience. Respect to you and friends for accomplishing this.

Une vraie île de magie! Mina, Allyson visited me today and told me about your visit and the blog. I found it and it brought me back to my visit there last year...the photos are superb...I recognize most of the places. What a magical place it is! So glad you got to experience the heaven that is Corsica and that you're having a great trip...
love, Cindy
Thank you Today the winds are fiercer than any day you were here - hard to imagine, but walking is a hazard! What a pleasure your visit was and your blog is brilliant. Thank you for taking the time to pay such a tribute to this "Isle de Beaute" and share your experience of being here. What a gift it was for me to share your discovery of this amazingly beautiful island. Your appreciation of all that it offers and your enthusiasm and delight affirmed my feeling of overwhelming luck at having landed here, be it for a few months of the year.
Such beautiful colours! Such a nice way to end your time on the Asian leg of this incredible journey...your next trick will be to transplant the inner beauty and tranquility of your learning into your life back in North America. I think you will have to teach many of us how to do this!!!

Elephant you Georgette says enjoy your time away from report cards!! And don't make us so envious! (she is in my room as I read this)!
Mina, I'm so happy for you to face your fear and look at what an amazing experience you had! Can you picture the poor elephants at the toronto zoo cooped up in their small area...Thank god for Lek and people like her!
Made It! The Made It photo should be used for Tilley or some other company as promotion or advertising. Your photos are fantastic, Mina. What an amazing trip. Thank you for sharing.
Inspiring!!! You should be working for the tourism board of Myanmar...anyone who has read these blogs and seen these magnificent photos is instantly spellbound and captivated...I wish I had another four over five so I can go there myself...lovely message too at the end...it doesn't cost a thing to smile or be kind! Thanks for the reminders!
"On The Road to Mandalay" Title of an old "Bob Hope/Bing Crosby" movie. Now you've done the sequel with dongs of epic proportions! Anything that is hung with a 16 ft. lip has got to be good in my books! The fact that you could squeeze yourself into such enormity is a testament to your talents! Everything in this stretch of your journey sounds so massive. No wonder you can't stop writing about it! Bigger really is better! I guess once people have been "Mandalay-ed" there is no going back!
Over the Rainbow When Dorothy set foot in that dark forest with her companions, she eventually emerged from that environment into a new world of wonders. How magnificent that you replicated this journey so beautifully through text and pictures...it's "other-worldliness" is unsurpassed!
Great memories and thanks for making it easier to tag my photos with the great blog, that I have so much experience of you writing! Disappointed that there's no mention of your fabulous roomie, but I'm getting over it! Enjoy the rest of your travels, will email shortly. Kx
It's not the heat, it's the humidity!! Hello darling;
I feel your pain. I arrived for a 4 month stay in Indonesia in April and man, it was like stepping into a sauna! Just think what you are missing here...report cards around the corner, the District Review behind us and staffing stress! I might not be in 309 next year (so Mario keeps threatening), so we might not be neighbours :-(
Enjoy your stay in south-east Asia!!
xoxo
Amazing Postcards! How fascinating...and what an amazing time to be visiting this country. It must be exciting to visit a place that has recently opened its "doors" to the world to see. The spirits of the people too seem to have been lifted and hence the endless parade of smiles and kisses. Historic! Lovely photos as well, particularly the ones that capture the grace and serenity of these beautiful people. You are doing very well as a Canadian ambassador! We can't wait for your next assignment!!!
Tibetan Treasures Shrangri-la!!! What's left...the moon? What a fascinating journal....the story of the photos is frightening! I'm glad you made the decision you made considering the influence it was going to have on your fellow travellers. We really do take freedom for granted here when you listen to such stirring anecdotes. I'm glad the people have found their inner tranquility and beauty despite the oppressive regime that stomps upon their hearts on a daily basis...and I am sure, your presence there was reassuring to them that there is some good in the world. You really are conquering the world!
I'm off once again on another year long adventure. Through this travel blog, I'm hoping to share some wonderful experiences and images with my family and friends so that they too will be on the journey with me.... full info
