Today I went to weather.com and looked at the 10-day forecast for Johannesburg. I've been doing this off and on for weeks, trying to get a feel for what sort of weather I might expect. Will it be rainy? Is it starting to cool off? Will I pretty much need to carry a "just in case" hoodie everywhere I go? The answers to all of these questions are speculative at best... nevermind that the stereotype of weather forecasters being wrong 50% of the time is deeply rooted in reality. Anyway. Today I went and checked, and there was Saturday, March 13. Even if it's wrong, it's real. It's THERE. And it's close. Today is my last Friday in the United States for 4 weeks. Yeah, I can live with that.
