I love Santa Monica. I love the West Coast well what I saw of it for sure. After a long flight delayed by various random acts, crammed in the back of a 747 with a bunch of young American marching band members I was ready for a drink when I finally arrived in LA. The only saving grace was my beloved window seat with stunning views of Greenland and the Rockies. The piece de resistance though was the landing - although the pilot reassuringly informed us that no one in the cockpit had ever landed from the east over the sea so 'here goes' - what we got was a stunning view of the california coastline with the Rockies in the background- in Karim's words A-mazing.
