it's a good thing your big sister took you to the nat'l portrait gallery this year. otherwise you wouldn't know that that british museum was only sub-par. haha. and we were watching wimbledon on friday and brian said he saw you in the field. "you" were center of the screen and it was definitely a red head.
Its soooo cool! I know exactly where you were and what you saw. However, I got to be up on the tower when it was twinkling. That was really cool, and the lights from the city just go on forever ever ever ever. Don't you wish MARTA was anything like Euro metros?
Once again, an awesome read. I can imagine exactly how you were acting when the girls told you to calm down.
You look great in your pictures. Enjoy your last two weeks!
Love you,
Mom
Katie,
Your blogs are so descriptive and wonderful to read. I just love them. The one on Bruges was very special to me. So very glad you made the trip there. Didn't it feel like you were inside a fairytale? One of your pictures shows the place where Kath and I stayed. Like you, we did a lot of touring, but when we relaxed in our room it was such fun to look out the window at all the tourists on the bridge.
So now you've tried real Belgium waffles, chocolate, and beer Are you going to try the mussells too??? I wasn't quite that brave. Be sure to bring home some Belgium lace for yourself -- there is a store in the Grand Place that sells lace Christmas tree ornaments.
I am very proud of you for being adventurous, and smart enough to figure out where to go, how to get there and places to see -- and how good of you to take the time to share it with friends and family. You are special.
Love, Grandma Pat
I am glad I get to read your blogs, looks like your having a good time and some cool adventures. Have you gotten to travel outside of Belgium at all? The MTV internship didn't work out because they didn't have the area of interest I wanted and some family issues prevented me from going to New York at all but I am going to Orlando and Chicago in July and maybe San Francisco, be safe and take care, can't wait for our next movie night!
adventures with food and drink Wow, Katie, you are getting a whirlwind tour of food and drink in Belgium! It's good you're not a picky eater or drinker! : ) And such weird cultural juxtapositions you are discovering... Your pictures are great and your commentary is so fun...!
busy week! You sure are busy, and you even missed a couple days because you were sick! Can't wait to read next weeks blog with more adventures. Love you!
your adventure has begun Well, Katie, your adventure has definitely begun! Thanks for sharing all the nitty-gritty info and astute observations; it is so fascinating to read!
It is a bit mind-boggling, isn't it, how things that seem like they'd be familiar, are actually not. Europe shares so much in common with the States, but there is just enough that's different to throw an American a little off kilter. (I speak from experience there.) But this is one reason why travel is such a life-expanding thing: to experience things you never have before and to realize how people live in ways quite foreign to our way of life.
Your pictures are great! What a cool staircase! Love the kitties, too. NOW - we need a picture of you!
Looking forward to hearing more from you. Be safe, be happy, and enjoy all the cheek kissing! : )
