Peruvian stones
Hi Jodie the worldly traveller, Nice stones you bought there girl but.... I thinkyou paid too much for them. Did you barter? The Ammonite fossil should be worth $2 Serpentine $5-$10 and the Sodalite $5-$10. I realize you probably fed that man's family for a week on that $35. Sometimes the expenditure for the experience is priceless. Peru has lots of pretty stones but they shouldn't be worth any more than $5 each. Keep your eye out for Peruvian Opal that is the same colour as Turquoise but again don't pay more than $5 each as they are all semi precious stones that are indiginous to Peru. You are really making me want to travel Peru as it sounds fabulous. Keep on trekking and savouring your adventures. Be safe. Lots of love Joye

And the adventure begins...Really glad you're safe and sound. The Miraflores Beach picture looked like clouds until I looked closer and saw the rows of waves! I wish I was with you. We had nearly two feet of snow at the cabin this week. Love ya, Dad

Getting ready...
Very excited for you sweetie...travelling away from home (a long way from home!) is one of the most awesome journeys one can take. I assume that you have sewed that Canadian flag, loud and proud, somewhere on your backpack? It'll be fun to follow along with you :) Kisses, Auntie
