Paradise Hi Jessie~ Reading your story had me right there.... well done sister. It bring back memories of my trip there oh so long ago. (I think it was 1991!). I imagine you have to get back to work when you return, but would love for you and Ryan to come up to visit me in Asheville. Miss you! Love- Sharon
Yippee!!! You are in PARADISE---glad I am saying 'affirmations' for you and Ryan thooooooo---I'm calling in some x-tra guardian angels after reading this--p.s. you and Molly are water goddesses.....
Wow! What an amazing place! The pictures are great and I love hearing of your adventures. You could have left out the horse stumbling, raging river and the riptide part - but I am glad you've made it safely this far! Keep having fun - don't worry about Nonnie - she is on vacation, too (check your email sometime). Love you! Remember to send me your return flight info at some point - Mom
The Maltese :P Hey Jessie. What are you up to? I was back in Vienna and Bratislava this year on my summer trip and it brought back good memories. This time I was biking and I rode my bicycle to Bratislava (and beyond). You got one very last chance to see a Maltese 5 lira note there since now it's out of circulation and we're using boring euros.
art appreciation 101 While I appreciate your attempts at drama, Molly's mom probably had a mild heart attack until she read the first line of the blog. So now, repeat after me, " I am the niece of an artist and I spent a month (or was it 3?) IN Italy, studying art history, which means I probably know as much, if not more ,than the average person does about ART!" AND you must repeat it back to me until I'm convinced you believe it or you can't be my niece anymore......
p.s. Besides, your 'man on the street' has probably never even HEARD of Gustav Klimdt.....
NOW I'm jealous! Strangely, it didn't hit me till now- not even the picture postcard views. When I was at Young Harris, Me and Dee would run over these hills nearby and twirl ourselves like tops and sing, "The HILLS ARE ALIVE....etc, etc. ...and then fall down breathless and laughing (Maybe SHE AND I should plan a trip there,,Are you reading this now young DEE????)....I hope you let go your usual frugality concerning souvenirs and bought your AUNT SUZAN a suitable kitschy SOMETHING (???) but don't worry, I'm not holding my breath..
Favorite Things Memory So as I read about your Sound of Music adventure, I had a memory flashback of you at about age five dressed up in your favorite purple dress and blacks (shoes) playing outside at Roopville. You were on the top of the sliding board singing at the top of your lungs to all the cows and other admiring creatures in the pasture, "
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens (you'd spread your arms wide and belt out).... these are a few of my favorite things! (you'd shake your finger) when the dog bites, when the bee stings....(you'd hug yourself) I simply remember my favorite things, and (big flourish at the end!)then I don't feel so bad!" I never imagined while I watched you then, that you would one day be in Austria singing that song to the meadows and your admirers there! I wonder if they know how lucky they are??? From Roopville to Austria - what's next? Keep it up! Love you, Mom
What Fun & Adventure! Hi Jessie, This week was my 1st chance to travel through your blog. I've printed out all the pages for Stuart to enjoy the saga. Your writing and photo's makes me feel like I'm on the adventure with you. Thanks for sharing all the fun with us. Lots of love! Donna
Wish we were there! We are glad you are having so much fun and seeing wonderful things and places. We hope the rest of your trip is as enjoyable. We can put smelly socks on your Christmas list if you would like to help you remember your trip!
Love you
Nowheresville, Switally (Itally &Switzerland) Nope, you were definately SOMEWHERE - and what a somewhere! What kind of snake? I had a copperhead right by my house where I go barefoot all the time(!). If they don't have poisonious snakes whereever it is you are, I'm ready to MOVE.....
Wow! This place looks and sounds amazing, i was just wondering where is it exactly as we will be passing through Switzerland at some point? That turtle is uber cool
Me, me, me! Okay- this is where I want to go and stay a while! Why didn't ya'll stay longer? Ya'll are such wanderers....hope you continue to "luck up" on more great places like this. Love you, Mom
Shaken, not stirred...... Bond. Jessie Bond.....sandals and heels, the chic mountaineer's basic gear. Being the resourceful souls you are, I know you've already found heels are reasonably functional ice-axes if you encounter a vertical ice face. Hang in there...:-)
HA HA HA!!! the part about laughing to subside the smell cracks me up! I can totally relate..Glad you both experenced that. And how sweet of you two to give that lady your pizza....hike on!!
I must say that you ladies make those translation machines look really good :) Also sleeping to a bunch of woohooers, it must have sounded like a lulliby or something... ha ha
Your first travel book title--- "I've GOT IT- a sure best seller (to the 20-something set) - "How to Party Down and Hike Up to the Hottest and Coolest parts of Europe Carrying only Strappy Heels and Flip-flops....." Whaddya think?
WoW, Wow and double WOW.... I sent my ex-stepson Andre your travel blog. His comment,"Obviously fake...." but kidding aside, don't you just love it when every scenic photo calender, national geographic and postcard you've ever seen turns out to have been a little drop in the bucket to the real thing???
And I thought I had a wild week! No comparison to you and Molly, up, up and away touching the clouds--but I want to see a picture of the little kite thingy- ???-
How cool No wonder I did'nt sleep well last night. Mother's intuition. Ok, what are you gonna do for an encore............no, don't tell me til you are done!!!!
