Koh Samui was beautiful. Although we didn't leave our resort. There was some confusion as to where we were staying as they'd overbooked at Secret Garden resort. As we'd been flying I didn't get the email that we'd changed hotels until we got there. So we went to the other hotel, only to be told the first hotel had upgraded us instead!! We stayed in a hut by the sea. It was lovely, apart from the incredibly uncomfortable bed and the very loud karaoke bar across the road! The next day we lounged on the beach like lizards, drinking beer and going for a dip in the crystal clear sea. That evening we got the ferry to Koh Panghan ready for the Full Moon Party. We got to our accommodation, a hostel across the road from ... read more

Hoi An was a beautiful city, or the old quarter bit was anyway. That's the only bit we really visited. Lots of history and nice places to eat. We went out one night for a few beers and some shisha. The hotel was good too, it had a massive pool with a swim up bar. The only problem was the day we were leaving there was a big wedding at our hotel. They had the after party at about 12pm and started singing very loud Vietnamese karaoke. They really love karaoke here.. I don't understand it myself! We got the bus to Hue. Hue was a bit boring really, not much to do. But we went out for dinner and celebrated Kimberley's birthday with sparklers and shots. We then went out to a bar called Brown ... read more

Ho Chi Minh City was toxic! The air was thick with the smell of two stroke and the humidity. We all struggled to breathe a bit.. However we had a good time, Lop showed us around and took us to Pho 2000. A noodle fast food restaurant where Bill Clinton had visited about 20 years ago. We started on the beer. After lunch we went back to the hotel for a nap. Everyone else went to the markets. We then got up to make ourselves look glam to go to the skybar in a really tall building overlooking the whole of the city. We went with Fran, Emma and Wendy. We aimed to get there for sunset. Unfortunately the smog was so bad you could barely see the sun!! But the cocktails were good.. Then we ... read more

Ok, well Sihanoukville didn't go quite as planned... We got there at about 1pm. Lop wanted us all to get ready and go out for lunch within 10mins. Sally and I really couldn't be bothered, so we went up to our room. I slept for about 5 hours, so I knew I wasn't feeling too good. We got up and went to the beach for a bbq. The beach was mad. Imagine the strip at Magaluf, all bright flashing lights and loud music. There were people letting off fireworks over the sea. Beggars harassed you for money every 5 minutes. I started to feel really awful. I ordered some bbq food but really didn't want it. It came and I had one mouthful and instantly knew that I wanted to go back to the hotel for ... read more

Eeep, haven't written anything down in a while. Have just got on a 4 hour bus to Sihanoukville so will try and remember what's been going on.. So we got to Siem Reap, the hotel was good. We just chilled for the rest of the day, went out for dinner and then to a night market. I'm no good at haggling with the market traders!! We then went for a beer in a karaoke bar and went back to the hotel. The next morning we got up at half 4 to go to the Buddhist temple Angkor Wat for sunrise. It was beautiful, but there were so many people there! Took loads of pictures although none will capture how pretty it was. I found a cat that wanted to sit on my lap and had a ... read more

So my journey began at half 4 in the morning after not a lot of sleep with a trip to Gatwick airport. Jamie dropped me off. Was a lot harder to say goodbye this time than when he dropped me off for Australia. :( Got on the plane ok, flight had a lot of turbulence but otherwise was fine. Managed a little sleep. Next flight was better, the promise of WiFi cheered me up, but I soon realised that you only got 10mb free and then had to pay.. Boo. However I got chatting to the guy next to me. Never did find out his name. But he was a retired police officer who used to work in forensics. He has visited all the places I am going to and told me a few tips for ... read more

The boat trip to the Whitsundays was the perfect way to end my trip!! Was relaxing compared to the madness of Fraser Island. Had to get an overnight bus to Airlie Beach. Wasn't too bad and managed to sleep most of the way. Got Airlie at 7am. Had nothing to do, so just wandered about like a homeless person until Travel Bugs opened so I could ditch my bag there and use their free Internet. After a bit Nat and Kim arrived too so wandered with them for a bit. Went to make an emergency doctors appointment as the foot had swelled up and was looking gammy yet again. Appointment was for the day I got back from the boat trip. Had to say goodbye to Nat and Kim :'( Will hopefully see them when they ... read more

Got to Rainbow Beach at about 12. Checked into the hostel. The room looked like a Thai jail. 10 beds in a dark dank room. Awful. Had a safety briefing ready for leaving to the island in the morning. We had to watch a dvd about driving in sand and then one for being 'dingo safe'. The dvd told us to cross our arms across our chests and back away from dingoes. What a load of rubbish.. The guides said don't do that as covering your nipples won't protect you from a dingo! Was also below a couple in my bed again. Terrible nights sleep. Had to get up at 6am to be ready to leave at half 7. All these early mornings are killing me! Got into our groups. I could tell that my group ... read more

So my walk turned out to be epic! And a bit weird... Was a gorgeous walk along the coast of Noosa Heads. Absolutely stunning views of the ocean. Watched whales, dolphins and turtles. Also had to walk through a nudist beach. I was looking at whales in the ocean and trying not to look anywhere near the old men. What is it with old men and getting their wangers out?! Anyway, this old guy was walking towards me in the rudey nudey and I was exaggerating my ocean looking to avoid any kind of eye contact. Clearly I'm no good at this and he flagged me down.. I stopped to talk to him. His name is Trey and he's south african. Had quite a long conversation. Awkward as hell. Especially as he did insist on touching ... read more

Day started early, zee Germans started waking up at 5:45!! I got up at half 6. Still far too early in my opinion... Got the bus at 7:45. There was a lady sitting near me who, on first glance, seemed normal as she was groomed and well dressed in a nice maxi dress. However closer inspection showed me that she didn't have matching flip flops and was reading her magazine upside down. Interesting. Got to Australia zoo at 9am. In the pouring rain. Got the emergency poncho out. Looks like a giant white bin bag, down to my ankles. Hot. The bus wasn't due to pick me up until half 4. Already I was thinking that this was going to be a long day.. Text Kim and Nat to say I was at the zoo. You'll ... read more
