5 de Mayo The Plaza 5 de Mayo in Panama has nothing to do with Mexico. The monument at the center (I don't know if you saw it) was done in honor of the firemen (or "bomberos") that died at the "polvorin", which was a fire/explosion of a large gun powder storage that took place on May 5, 1914. At he time, Panama had a large and proud fire department. It was a terrible tragedy.

Yay! I'm glad you made it the safely. It looks like you're going to have a lot of fun judging from the pictures and the way you're describing the ship. We're going to miss you, but honestly, you couldn't pass up an offer like this! Please stay safe, I'll send an email soon.
Miss ya!
Advice for Acapulco My husband and I went on a cruise to Mexico for our honeymoon.
I'm not sure how much time you have there, but here is my advice.
Don't take anything but a certified tour for site seeing, ex Coyuca Lagoon. We totally got taken from locals on trying to see this lagoon, and needless to say we never got to see it and wasted valuable time and money. But if you are able to hit a bit of nightlife I highly recommend Senor Frog's. It's on the main strip, any cabbie would know where. We walked from one of the furthest ends at Hard Rock Cafe, back to Senor Frogs. Anyways it was a great outdoor club! And when a ship is in port most of the people go there. I can't remember if there was a cover. But the music was a good mix for my taste and you can see the ocean. Also there is a bungee jumping right next door, which my husband did, that you can watch people do all night. Well I hope you enjoy yourself! And I'll be living through you, while reading your blog. Take Care! Tang
