Big Up!!!! Got to say bro proud as reading your blog, havent looked for a while but have to tilt my hat and bow my head! You have recorded your thoughts and happenings in an eloquent and comical manner, that deserves all the admiration it will undoubtably bring. really looking forward to the unoffical added extras which you will divulge on return to this narrow minded and annoying land we call home. Still there are many people here who cant wait to see you, and dont forget a certain socailist football team itching for their prodigal future player to finally pull on their jersey! Amke sure the emails keep coming and carry on inspiring......Keep it Reel cous....
Hello, how's Jackland? Cheers for the message Sam... Actually when I was in Wellington just two days ago I was watching a game of rugby and football at the same time on two adjoining pitches. To be fair they both caught my equal attention... Football for how bad and comical the kiwis are at playing it and the rugby for how big, quick and strong they are! And how hard they hit each other in the tackle..! Ooofff, glad I am a footballer and all occasional all-rounder on the cricket pitch. Bollocks to that!
It's very beautiful so far down here, I am now in the south island in Kaikoura, like a mixture of the greeness of Wales, the english lake district, the shorelines of Ireland and tinges of my spiritual homeland - Colombia. I love it.
Speak soon
Jamie 'Cienfuegos' Borley...
Lucky Lucky git Hiya Jamie
Looks fantastic ! Im soooooooooo jealous of your trip to NZ i cant even begin to put it into words ! Being the rugby nut that i am then NZ is my spiritual home ! I know that the game involving 22 idiots and a pigs bladder is more your style but please promise me while your out there you will try and catch some of the heaven that is called rugby and is played with an oval ball ! Enjoy yourself chick and keep up the travelling. Im loving the blogs and your style of writing. You were wasted working in Fords ! Love Sam xx PS if you get the chance look at the NZ phone book and see if you can spot anyone with 'AB' next to thier name. Means they were once an all black and have been capped ! (Fact of the day)
well done the boys of swansea yesterday all the jacks were behind you hope you get promotion now, well done with the cup what a day swansea city made it yesterday up in cardiff at the millenium stadium well done lads keep it up !
Your logs and you... Jamie you are a great writer and you really should seriously consider journalism or something like that when you return - try contacting Rough Guides or someone. You sound like you've had a life changing and challenging experience, don't let it completely shade the UK - every country has good and bad points. We've been in France now for over 3 years and we look at the UK through different eyes, and although I wouldn't necessarily want to live there again I can at least now see it through 'transparent glasses!' - it's certainly not rose tinted! Drop us a little email sometime and we'll fill you in on old-boy Steve and 6mth old Elise. Take care, good luck, Jox
hi hello mate, see you enjoying yourself still. I can see you starting to miss home now. good luck down there mate, keep writing your journal its a really good read

Listen TJ Hooker, you don´t know the stress of it! I have always been a miserable git, ever since I was a little boy, just ask my mother. But you know what´s it´s like ´familiarity breeds contempt´... I just can´t shake off my British cynicism sometimes. That´s why you see very few Welsh backpackers - because we don´t take ourselves so seriously with these multi-fuctional 53 pockets, 49 zips, sand coloured cargo trousers and multi-functional fleeces (all designed to make the local poor people feel even poorer). You´d be scrapping out here every 5 minutes, trust me. And although I´m down here it´s like John Hartson once said...''for me, Swansea is the top´´.
Have faith,
Jamie
Miserable Git... Jamie, when the next hostel pisses you off or the next 21 year old in trousers with zips all over them says 'let's paty man' try to think of Swansea and remember that it could be worse, you could be back home!
Hola Roberto ´´pocket rocket´´ Hopkins Gracias por tu mensaje, que amable, Y feliz navidad y nuevo año a ti y tu familia tambien!
Nos vemos el año que viene....
Chao chao
Jaime Carlos Borley, leg-spinner extraodinaire!
Thanks lads.. Cheers for the messages...And merry xmas and a happy new year to you all!
I am not going to say ´have a good time but don´t get too drunk´, Bollocks to that... Just get pissed and deal with it afterwards!
Hypoids and Helicals? What!!??! Thank you Pat (or is it Steve?)for the kind comments... Thank the lord I have a knack at something because gears weren't my niche in life!
By the way, I'm now in Brazil and a little German bird tells me there is some excellent sandboarding in the south of this country... So when in Rome...
It's now 2011.
Wow, how 'time passes' as Dylan T once remarked, twice, in 'Under Milkwood'.
Jessica and I are now proud parents to Carys Francisca and we are living in Swansea, Wales, my home city. Jessica is learning her trade in motherhood and the vagaries of Swansea slang and twang and English in general. I am working in the steel industry and am a current undergraduate on a Manufacturing Systems degree program.
Since the last travelblog I haven't written anything but I hope to do so soon... I still dream of putting all my South American adventures into a book and hopefully that dre... full info
