hello all sorry again for the lack of photos still to find a computer that accepts my card. we arrived from ica to nazca two days ago which is a tiny little city right in the middle of the desert. the coach ride there was amazing, really beautifull arid landscapes and huge mountains. theres not a lot to do in nazca but it did feel like the most authentic place so far. everyone turns there head in facination which a bit funny, its prob because i look so much like brad pitt they get confused. anyway we came to nazca for one thing ... the nazca lines ! nazca was a pre inca culture based in and around the nazca desert. some time in the 60´s i think some american dude was flying over the desert ... read more

brup hello all, been a few days since i updated my blog and thought it was about time, sorry i dont many photos up yet, the computer here doesnt have a slot for my card. anyhow we left lima 3 days ago on the 7am bus to Ica. From Ica we got a taxi to this tiny little town called Huacachina in the middle of the desert. Its based around a natural oasis and only about 100 people live here so its quite sleepy. The town itself is stunning, all the buildings are from the old colonial days and its very green, lots of colourfull birds and insects living around the lagoon.Found out about this thing called the sun, appears we dont subscribe to it in the UK but its really good fun and we have ... read more

afternoon ¿Chicha? had this strange purple drink at lunch today its made from maize and its really sweet, very popular here and very tasty ... however the guineapig carcass in the supermarket did not look so appealing. had a nice walk to the next district (miraflores) this morning and stayed there most of the afternoon avec our new american friend Erin. Its like the Kensington of london so we felt right at home haha. They have a great big shopping centre set into the side of the cliff overlooking the sea hwich was really cool. Stayed there for lunch and then went bowling lol not too peruvian but great fun all the same. Walking around Barranco and Miraflores was great the buildings are really old and theres a lot of colonial influences, its really beautifull. Went ... read more

at last ! we are here, a day later than expected but here at last. the flight was really long but we survived. my one meal for the twelve hr flight was peas, carrots and greenbeans with some tea... yum yum. The stupid guy at immigration only gave me and péte 30 days visa even though we are allowed 90 so now we have to go to the embassy and pay for an extension muh, the ride from the airport to the hostel was possibly the scariest taxi in history. About ten minutes in they pulled us to the side of the road and both the driver and the guy who met us at the airport stepped out ... read any guide to peru and this is not good, having soiled myself thinking we were about to ... read more
