In 2005, restless, stuck in a boring job and with 30 fast approaching, I handed in my notice, rented out my flat and, together with my partner Christiane, set off to see some of the world. Three months later, almost by accident, we ended up in Mongolia. As the years went by and other memories faded, the 16 unscheduled days in Mongolia remained startlingly fresh.
