inspired... Amelia--you inspire me to do a blog about the "back story" of my work trips! Like the prevalence of vultures in the Everglades and the really bad tourist traps at Andersonville, Georgia.
Thanks,
L
Nice post! Thanks for sharing your experiences.. I am planning to take that route this month!
Peace,

Enjoyed this post Hi Amelia, though I only skimmed the text, I enjoyed looking through this post. This region is among my top favorite places in the country.
Breathtaking! Your pictures are amazing! Great job keeping up with the travel log Amelia. I always look forward to reading the Great American Roadtrip updates. Call me when you get a chance. Much love to all!
Woohoo! What a great trip you guys are having and who is that very tall person named Max? (don't worry Miles, you'll be up there all too soon...) Allen shared your site with me. Keep having fun!

enjoying the blog but missing you guys! I'm enjoying the gorgeous photos and the 'keeping it real' commentary. Say "Hi" to Max and Miles from his homey, and tell Miles Brian really enjoyed his 'shout out' to the Shannon kids.
so enjoy these blogs! We're so enjoying this detailed story! You weave the personal, touristic, and geology so well, Amelia. Keep them coming.
We're in the middle of a week on the eastern shore of Maryland. Just what I need to deal with the reality of this appricot-sized tumor in my brain. doc sez it's been there a long time, so no big hurry on removing. But brain surgery is on the horizon. I feel fine.
I assume you're backing up your blog on disc so your grandchildren can read??
Nice photos ''Thai Spicy Basil " looks like a good place not to miss in Colorado. I'm at Miles and James house using their laptop. Yesterday was Kevin's Birthday party over at his wickiup. Going to sign off and go to tour Miles and James refrigerator for lunch. Colorado photos are very beautiful. Bye
It's great that you guys are allowing for these sidetrips! Wish I could have done the chairlift through the tunnel - good call Miles. Sorry to hear that the weather isn't cooperating. The pictures show clear skys so they must be sneaker storms. Asheville's afternoon showers are like clockwork. At least they cool everything off for a couple of hours.
Keep the blog comin'! Anna and Russell and Allen are really enjoying these! They'll make a good journal of the trip for you at the end. This is so easy for us - we feel like we're travelling across the country ourselves.
Anna is very interested in the grasslands - wondering if Buffaloes graze there?
Family of 4 from Virginia headed west this summer (2008) to the Four Corners area, up the California coast into Oregon, and back east again.... full info
