My journey begins in 7 days and I am now tying lose ends together. Called my banks and found out cheapest ATM rates,...there aren't any! Chase charges 3% of any transaction and $5 cash out of the ATM machine and so does Wells Fargo. I believe I will carry money this time when I leave, which is not a normal practice for me! I always use the ATM's and never paid much attention to rates. Trying to go cheap this time so I can do more and travel more on the money I am putting aside for travel. Anyway, I found out Discover doesn't charge anything on International purchases but it is not accepted everywhere. So for a backup, my USAA master card only charges 1% on purchases. I also checked with my phone company, SPRINT.
