Very interesting to read a foreign perspective on my home! Enjoyed reading your blog. Being an Englishman myself, it's very interesting to learn just how visitors find our country. I hope you really enjoyed/are still enjoying it!
I'm a Scotter Just came across this website. I find it interesting because my name is Scotter. I have found very few people in the U.S. with the same name. I would live to visit the town that bears my name. I also am surprised to see you have ringneck pheasants there! I hunted those all the time as a kid growing up on a farm in South Dakota, USA.
No Mention of Ouzo... Are you going to tell me that no ouzo was drank the whole time you were in Greece?! I hope that is not the case, and you just forgot to mention it in your narrative. Anyways, it looks like a beautiful place to visit. And any place with readily available donkeys can't be all that bad.
Fanny Pack Okay Koi where is that much loved fanny pack I so lovingly gave to you last christmas? Your trip looked completely awesome can not even imagine what it is like there! We miss you both! Love ME
I'm so jealous Hey Stacey, Koi, Julia and Porkchop...Scott H. just sent me the link to the blog. What a GREAT idea!!! Now you can share your adventures with all of us "Married with (rotten) children" folk and we can live vicariously thorugh you guys. I was in England in 1984 on a high school honors program. I LOVED it. Looks like it hasn't changed much in 20+ years. Enjoy every moment. You guys will have stories to tell for a lifetime. AND, you will make friends that will stay with you for a lifetime as well. Take care and keep adding to your blog. It's fun!!! Jamie
Okay I really like the Bean car that is so cute and can totally see you driving it! Koi not so much! The water that close to the house is a bit scary but makes for great photos! Seeing all the photos with you , Koi and your new friends is sad! That should be us!!!! Miss ya! Stacey you know I can send you all 10 seasons of Little House to pass the time!!
Watersports Y'ought to take advantage of the abundant H20 and go kayaking. Or canoeing. Or perhaps a good old-fashioned tractor-tire tubing get-flat-wasted float trip. It could be the "field experince" portion of your new school's curriculum. The final "exam" would be a blog entry to describe the experience to all of us stuck in the 100-degree-plus heat+humidity index here in the Midwest USA. It's like swamp arse around here! So jealous of your April blues.
Big Ass Stump??? Stacey---I can tell you were raised by your dad!! We've loved the pictures and the commentary. Be sure to see EVERYTHING so we can all enjoy it from afar! Doug's here inbetween grad school and new job in Burbank, CA. Doug and Bill take off in the morning (Sunday) for CA, I'll join them on Saturday to ride home with Bill. Keep up the good travel log. Love Marsha
Big wood That Major Oak is sporting some serious wood!
So did Koi split his first arrow in the target with his second arrow?
Did Friar Tuck show you where to find the best ale?
Down with corrupt monarchs... long live Robin Hood!
Don't even think about picking up an accent! I am glad to see that you've started acclimating to your new surroundings, but don't even think about picking up an English accent. I didn't work for Madonna, and it won't work for you. Just remember you're a Kansas born and raised girl, and you speak with a country "twang". Here's a phrase you can practice while you're over there; "Y'all, I kaynt bleeve da crik ain't gut mur feesh in't! Dat's f'shure." This roughly translates to, "All of you, I cannot believe that the creek does not have more fish in it! That is for sure." Keep up the good work!
The (Stacey) Golden Fleece I am glad that the TravelBlog is working out for you. Great pictures of the York Minster!
Quick question when you have the time.....
1) What makes the pub "the most haunted"? Do the dead, gold-laden sheep come to life?
2) Does the guy in the Roman garb get paid well? I certainly hope so, because he looks uncomfortable and ridiculous.....however, not as ridiculous as the people dressed in cow costumes promoting Chick-Fil-A....
A Day in York Great Pics. The museum of Roman Baths below the pub sound neat to see. You will have to send pics of that next. Sounds like a lot of fun trips you guys are doing. I will miss not meeting up with Koi and you next weekend in Barcelona when Keith and I are there.
Hurray to great beer! Was great talking with you and koi the other day! I am very excited to see the photos of the new place! The new people are in your place now! Very Sad!! Missing you from SW Washington!
what up! Love the cemetary photo....im glad i can always check in on you now!! But id really like to see more photos of hot young english dudes who may or may not live in Buckingham Palace.....!! Love you guys!! Sam
Do you have writer's block? Where's the beef? You have two entries within two days, and then nothing for two weeks! I figured apathy would eventually set in, but not this early in the game. I want pictures of something British and I want them now! If you need some picture ideas, try these: Prince Charles kicking a homeless man, soccer hooligans, a police officer, your local grocery store, a topless woman walking down the street (also acceptable if she is mowing her lawn, doing jumping-jacks, or hanggliding), etc. Keep up the good work.
hi guys! i never really knew what a blog was before so thank you for this technological exposure. i apologize for not writing sooner but feel i've been informed on your trip thus far through your website... love it! not much new here, i'll start my long term sub any day now and the coffee gig is going pretty well. keep us updated!
