India Hi Zoe, great to hear from you and by the sounds of it you are putting on some weight! Congrats to both of you. Thanks for the comments and we are amazed ourselves that we are still on the road after over 8000 miles now covered. Just sorting out car to ship to Malaysia now, and then we may also make an adjustment to route to maintain safety and security. Sydney is our aim!! Lots of love, Barry (and John of course sends his too.) xx
You still seem to be have an awinspiring trip, India is so different from the top to the bottom it's as if they are different countries. I still can wait each time for your wonderful story I sit at the computer drinking in your wonderful tale.
Keep safe , Love Annie

Bike ride for prostate cancer Hi Cahterine, your comment on the blog sounds as though you really have chivvied the executive team up and good to see the CEO downwards taking an active role to raise money for this worthy male cancer charity! Well done, both John and I are delighted that you are on the case. You should by now have received the photo of John wearing his KB sweat shirt; I have been using the factor 18 every day for days now, as well as a pen which does the job here for all sorts of things. Let me know if you need any further pictures of us on our travels.
KB GB 2 Aus Supporters Morning John and Barry
Great to read all your news, so pleased the trip is going well. Your supporters here at KB in Newbury are going to be out in force on Saturday 5th June, undertaking our 25 mile bike ride. I have spoken with Claire from the Charity and she is going to send us some balloons and flags etc to highlight the charity. As well as Richard and Steph from here, we are being joined by Rob Taylor our CEO and Mark Prudden the Company Secretary. We are hoping to raise lots of money.
Take care and we will be in touch soon.

Re-springing the Hillman! Hello Kamran, great to get your comment to the blog. And it was so nice to meet up with you and I know that John would very much like to be able to host you in the UK if you are able to come over especially if it conincided with the Goodwood Festival in very early September. Look forward to receiving the photos. Can I ask you to send them to and as a backup, to my address, bazhawgood@hotmail.com
Either way I will get them and then be able to use some of them on the blog for that period of our journey. We did enjoy our time with Huma. My wife, Elaine, and her are great friends, and I think I may have persuaded E that she must come out to Lahore to see Huma. Kind regards and again, thank you for fixing the springs-the car is going really well, although at the moment we have been held up in India because of the difficulties posed in getting car insurance for the period we are in India, but we have now achieved it, and hope to be able to set off from Delhi tomorrow (Tuesday) to Agra. Regards Barry and John.
Meeting with John It was lovely to meet up with John and Barry at Humas house and getting the Hillman sorted for its further journey. have pictures of the Hunter and the cart springs being put on. pls send me the email address so that I may forward them
hmmmm! Well guys you are certainly doing well. Pity that you have had to stay a extra few days in Dehli.....my heart bleeds for you and then you go on to the Taj Mahl, still I suppose someone has to do it:-) Am expecting great things from the blog now, want to feel every bump in the road and smell the dust. Need to keep you on your toes in case the standard slips. Hope you manage to get permission to flip into Nepal.....just keep aiming south, it has to be better than all the politics here! E x
Delhi You comments on Delhi brought it back from when Valerie and I were there for my birthday in 2008 and the thing we talked about was how no one hit each other driving and how the cows can not be moved, another thing we noticed was the electics over head especially in the old market it was like spagetti above you how they ever found what went where if it broke down. Barry you are really amazing with your story telling I know I keep saying it but its true.
Take care of yourswelves and Agra is great but do try and go to " Fatehpur Sikri" its on the outskirts of Agra and wonderful we loved it the best of all the Temples we saw including The Taj Mahal.
All the very best Annie
Pakistan Hi Heather of dirtyhippieblog! Glad you liked the blog on Pakistan. I have to say that we saw few travellers over there, unlike our first encounter with Brits at Amritsar in the hotel we had booked into, where we came across more Brits than we have seen since starting out on this adventure! Will check out your blog. I hope that with a car we will be able to take ourselves into the more remoter and unusual places of India as we visit various places on our way down towards Chinnai.
Barry
Pakistan Hi guys, thanks for your support and following. Now in Delhi! Wow. I have to say that the driving in India is the most demanding we have met. Will elaborate in my blog.
Barry

Well done for the extra photos...could have done with a couple more of Abigail but hey I am just a westie lover. Looking forward to loads more pictures of India and reading all about it. So pleased Lahore worked out, Huma is such a lovely person. E x

more blogging Hey, this blog has been unchanged for days now. You have left us in limbo in a sleazy looking hotel with mozzy bites on our ankles and I know Lahore has been much better, so get blogging and fill in the gaps. Jan is following you in Holland and she needs more too. E x
At the beginning of 2008 two of us were discussing cars while John was reading his Classic Car magazine and read out an advertisement asking for entrants to take part in the re-run of the greatest and longest endurance rally of all time – the 1968 London to Sydney race, which was won by Andrew Cowan in a Hillman Hunter – now a classic car. We decided to enter.
The rally was due to start in November 2008 from London and finish in Sydney on the 10th December but it never did materialise – due to Australian quarantine issues – they refused to allow cars to proceed into Oz without a two day Â... full info
