Warning -- boring technical paragraphs ahead -- The previous night I had taken the opportunity to try our new fridge without plugging in the onboard converter. Sure enough, just as the service guy at Camping World said, it worked fine on gas. Next I tried it on 115AC, with the converter unplugged -- again, fine.
