I dig it! I liked your top 10! I just finished being in London for two days. (short trip I know) i got caught up in Amsterdam and didnt have much time once I got to London. I want to go back! London is definitely "Jekyll and Hyde" and I love it! =)
Great list! Thanks for the list of your faves and fun photos--the panorama was especially impressive. I love that we all like such different things. I tended to walk any place (up to an hour away) because the tube was so expensive, but I visited Hampton Court (had a thing for Henry, Elizabeth and that crowd). Great to hear insider tips from a native--good show!
the Tube thanks Tara - the tube isn't expensive if you get a 7 day travel pass...best bought out of the UK in your own currency, or just at any major tube station. Then you feel like you're going through 'free' each time!
Awesome! You can never tire of London or the UK! It looks like you are having such an awesome time - I love to hear all about it enough it makes me miss London hugely!
Enjoy Europe cheers Jody
Hi FlyingKiwis, my name is Richard. I am a uni student in Australia (although born in NZ) and for one of my units I am required to read, examine and respond to a travel blog. I chose yours due to my interest in Spanish society and your succinct and incisive writing style. A very interesting read and a fantastic look into local culture. For someone who wants to travel to Europe in the future the well-developed and candid evaluation of your experiences was very helpful. No need to respond but thanks for writing a delightful blog. Cheers!
ring trees information Hi im from the riverland and i work out at calperum station,as a ranger and im involved in doing a walking trail up at the moment i have come across a few scared trees there but im not sure on one tree if its a ring tree or not we have had meeting with each other but we still are not sure.Is there a way i can tell or find out?
Sorry can't help you there - my only suggestion would be to contact aboriginal elders from the area who would be able to verify it for you - good luck with the trail, Hilary
Happy Travels Hi Hilary & Rhys. Great to hear about your travels. We have sun today at Cooks Beach, which is worth remarking on, given its absence for most of the summer. Rain overnight, of course. Cut off by flood water last week. Have a glass or two of tempranillo (sp?)on us.

Hi
I have fond memories of Barcelona and found everyone friendly.
yes, they are ready for tourists and there are the usual pickpockets but I loved the city and even the cathedral for its individuality. I loved the colored fountains at night. yes, crass, it probably says a lot about me. I love the fountains in Las Vegas as well!
Ah Barcelona!!! Great to hear of your adventures in Barcelona, where I stayed for a week in 2008. It really is my favourite city of those I've visited in Europe. Did you see the Palau de la Musica? It was surely the most beautiful building I have been in- with mosaic pillars and ceiling with sculptures, a giant stained glass window- just gorgeous! I was in heaven!
Did you see the Giris- the gay barcelonans with brightly coloured shirts who love to show off?
I also loved the glassed off areas in restaurants and stations for smokers to do their thing-so very considerate!!!
How about stopping by Mexico- Central America-Cuba on your way back across the pacific? I'd love you to come and visit me in Antigua. Cheap flights to these places from Mexico with Interjet airline- check them out!
Thanks Thanks for this - makes me all the more inspired to visit these intriguing locations. Well, I have just learned that I need heart surgery - soon - so I shall spend my time in recovery mode planning my OMG overseas trip. You have duly inspired me. Travel well, - any comments on the wine in Spain. cheers, Fay.
So you are off again! How long are you away for this time? Please keep me on your blogging list as I hear more from you when you are travelling than when you are at home! Hola!
You lucky buggars....... ....except I can read how exceedingly hard you have worked to gain this seemingly idylic lifestyle, both here and in Oz. I must say your photographs have an amazing quality - perhaps another ad-hoc career option?
cheers
Andrea
yeah, yeah - still foggy in Hamilton NZ As always I drift into another season-zone reading your blogs. 10 weeks and counting down to a trip to Raro in October to catch some rays ourselves. Look forward to your return in December. Is there a book at the end of all this?? Cheers, Andrea & Wayne.
Good on Ya Keep it up It's all good fun. We are on the road at the moment , auto transmission in MDX fell to bits at White Cliffs, dog locked himself in hire car and the fun continues, Regards Heather and Geoff Pope.
Very good now you now why we have not gone to Burke and other 1 horse towns.
Cairns is lovely, and at least has some civilization. Shops are open 7 days a week and has lots of restaurants.
The Kiwis are off on their next adventure to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary! First a tour of Slovenia and Croatia then independant travel around southern Italy and Sicily. Then HIS choice of romantic settings - a road trip round Iceland. And of course no flying Kiwis trip would be complete without a sojourn in England including our favourite city - London.... full info
