Hey Dina! Well, after enjoying this blog so much, and seeing the rave reviews you gave to your previous blogs, I'm all caught up now! It's hard to be on this side of the computer, at home! I did a similar trip down there a few summers ago, so it's great to hear stories about familiar places.. You make me laugh!! Glad you're having some great adventures. I've been spending a lot of quality time on my couch, but healing up really well from my knee surgery.. Look forward to getting together when you return!
que te vaya bien! yve
Viajes continentales Hey Dina!,
Ixtlan sounds amazing...I am thinking of you there developing your Spanish and having eye-opening experiences in Oaxaca...I have been in NYC...
Have lots of fun wherever your travels may take you next, Chiapas?...And keep writing...
Love,
Rosa
Hi Dina!!! Hey Din! I love reading your entries! Sounds like it's an interesting cultural experience. How is your spanish coming? Can you post photos on the blog or only on snapfish. I cannot wait to hear about Cuba. Mom said she sent you your birth certificate...be careful!!!!!!!!! Any cuties in Mexico? Or are they all male chauvenist pigs? Steve leaves for UK and India tonight - I am taking him to the airport. Miss you and stay safe!xoxoxxo

hey din
i love your descriptions of your family, so funny. i will be sure not to ever eat hotdogs when it rains (unlike most ppl we know, i actually really love hotdogs) i'm sure i've told you this story, but when i was living with my host family in cholula, my fat and curious host brother once snuck into my stuff and ate a whole months worth of ortho tri cyclen. imagine me trying to use my beginner spanish to explain to my ultra-christian family a) that, yes, i took "anti-conceptivos" and b) that, yes, felipe now did also. hilarious.
i love getting your pictures, i'm v. jealous of you, and i'm glad you're having a good time. good luck with the overnight bus!! i recommend a double dose of tylenol pm if you can get your hands on it. take care of yourself! besos, c
Hola Dina! ¿Que tal?
Yo estoy en Huaraz, Peru!
I did not get any of your blogs, I guess I´m on the "B" list. Sounds like your having a good time there, I love how we are both in Spanish speaking countries, lucky for me, the Peruvians speak slowly and it is not as crowded here. I can definitly relate to some of your stories. I had to leave the climbing trip due to altitude sickness, bummer. Look for really long and detailed blogs from me soon, with lots of nice photos so feel free to skip the sophmoric ramblings of a ex-journalism major.
Be well,
Joe
blog hey dina, just read yr entries on the blog. Grate stuff. Can you add me, sy.moskowitz@Valpo.edu to the addresses? thanks. Your jcomments abt the metro in Mex City remind me of some of my experiences on the ny subway this summer. Im sure its worse in MC, but i dont even pay attention to it so its good to notice it after yr communique. Ive been going to some entertainmt in NYC. Went to see Swan Lake, the ballet, last Sat afternoon Standing Room, at the Met. And last nite i saw an Indionesian Creation myth, inspired by Sureq Galiga,, an epic poem from S Sulawesi, Indonesia. It had abt 15 Indoniesian musicians, and 35 actors, dancers, etc. It was vry differnet, but i really enjoyed it. Only problem was cheap (and crammped) seat, 3 hr performance, no intermission. One of tghe students in my gimmel class invited a few of us overy for shabbos dinner tonite. I have to bring the challah so need to reknead the dought now and will sign off now. Mom is coming this weeked, w Deb and Art. Good eatging and good times. I had to make 3 oral presentations this week, incl telling 2 jokes in Yiddish.dina, plse forward this to all. thank you and shabbat shalom. xxoo Dad (aka Daled Man)
sounds great hey deen,
wish i was travelling! i met a strange brazilian businessman who has some kind of company in mexico. he says it's cheaper to get to the isle from mérida than from cancún. about the spanish, remember, you have to learn HOW to learn! (you know, i never thought about how this is an infinite regress)
diviertate! (i think that's right...)
besos
