Today we arrive in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Often I have visited this place in my dreams, imagining a city with old world charm of coffee houses, ornate majestic buildings and many thermal baths. The Donau ( Danube) broad and smooth leads us to Budapest, an enchanting city with a vibrant mix of East and West, Medieval and modern, but mostly known for its two parts the Buda, the hilly city, and the Pest the flat part. The city divided by the Donau is an architectural dream. As we approach the city we see an island within the river, the Margret Insel, named after a king’s daughter who was promised to God if he saved the city from impending harm by an enemy army.
