Hope my camera still there Ha, so it is a tough place, I just hope my camera still with you. It takes good photos, hate to lose it. On the other hand, i may be get a D40X back :=)). Have a safe trip in Bazil
You went to Petra? Despite you being 10 years older than me, I still maintain the right to be jealous of your completing a dream of mine before me! I'm glad it lived up the hype, and hopefully it will continue not to disappoint when I drag you to go there again so you can show it off to me, and, in typical crazy tourist spirit, do an Indiana Jones-esque tumble through the streets.
In the meantime, have fun with the other teapotters!
steph xooo (cause you know I'm all about the hugs)
Salut mon cher frère!
Blimey, I’m glad to hear that you’re living up to the beer-guzzling 100% pure-bred Aussie stereotype hehe. One now only waits for the exclamations of ‘bloody strewth’ and ‘look at mau-ye’ à la Kath and Kim to spread like wildfire across the desert plains of Egypt.
Your stunning photos and tales of adventure (and misadventures!) temporarily mollifies the travel bug that has taken refuge in my soul, so please continue updating us all on any more future confrontations with beguiling cups of tea and self-proclaimed backgammon kings.
Your description of what appears to be an utterly compelling tour group however is quite insufficient and I expect a full recount when you return, Mister. lol.
love you and hope you're enjoying yourself (sun, dirt, culture shocks and all)
collision of memories The photo in El Alamein (War Museum) reminds us your other childhood photo when you were disciplined for being naughty. Hehe :=)). Gess what Mum said about your stomach cramps. Anyway, enjoy the trip and keep posting.
Free time Hey dave.. nice to read ur blog, u seem to have lotsa time at night to write.. and surprisingly good internet access from where u are! :)
I think I am having more difficulty finding time to read ur blog... keep up the good work and safe travels. adrian
That's just dirt mate!! Cairo's such a bloody dirty city, you walk around and you feel dirt just clinging to everything - your skin, your clothes, you eyes. Really if you ever get to Cairo - all your senses get bombarded with stimuli - crazy!! Dave
Desert Paradise Dude!
Some awesome pics... appears you are getting a roasting over there. Or is that the dirt that has accumulated over the last ten days? The Oasis is incredible, I can just imagine nights out there... But man, I feel for you about the stomach pains - all because of tea?!
Keep us abreast of your adventures Egyptian backgammon master (in the making) and I don't know... it'd look pretty interesting if you carried back a carpet on your backpack.
