Today was our first day of classes, the first one (Language) was very intense and our teacher did not use much if any English. It went very quickly and was somewhat frustrating. I definitely can understand what it feels like to be an ELL in American schools when you do not understand. It is very difficult. We learned a lot but Chinese is a very hard language to learn and pronounce. For lunch- we did not eat in the cafeteria as we did yesterday. Instead, we got to eat up on the top floor (where there is air conditioning) and it was better Chinese food. We had fish, vegetables, rice, chicken soup and many other things. The food was delicious.
