Response Thanks!!!! I've been very fortunate to be able to see several places this year. Some years I'm not as fortunate.
As far as Italy, I'll be in Rome, Florence and Venice. I've been to Venice before but not the other two and am very excited! That'd be cool if you checked my blog...I'm usually pretty good about blogging as long as I have the internet connection and would be happy to answer any questions you might have when I get back!
Awesome pictures Hey, thanks for the lovely message you left on my Grand Canyon blog! I've got to say though, I would love to see what you have seen out West. Especially your pictures here at Bryce. I've always wanted to come here and now it's definitely next on my list. I took some time and looked though some of your other blogs and I'm amazed at how you find the time to explore all these places. Enjoy your trip to Italy. Where are you going? I'm going to Rome in December so hopefully I'll be able to use some of your blogs as inspiration. Either way, I'll definitely be checking back! :)
Ha! I didn't get her autograph but can understand why folks would want to. Babe's a legend.
I'm going to enlarge a picture of that church sign and hang!
By the way...I deleted your other comment because it revealed too much information.
I toatlly love the church sign...thought the people getting babe ruths daughter's autograph is a little wierd (does she play baseball :))...unless you got one then it is totally cool! :)
Thanks! Appreciate the info on the Fall. I have to travel to Rapid City a few times a year and will make sure I stop by on a trip in the Fall. It really is a hidden gem in South Dakota and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Appreciate you stopping by :)
CSP Almost National Park I love Custer State Park, too. If you can, you should try and come back in the fall. The tree colors are amazing, and so is the annual Buffalo Roundup. The park corals its 1500 bison for vaccination and auction, and the animals stampede through the hills. It's very impressive.
I thought your note was interesting about CSP having the potential to be a national park. The way I understand it, the U.S. government was seriously looking at making it a national park in the first decades of the 20th century, but the state wanted to maintain control, so they quick made it a state park before the feds could act. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter who administers it - it's a beautiful park. Your pictures attest to that.
Agree Yes, there is great variety in style and type. Lots and lots of sculptures and statues. From classic to abstract.

ND Actually, I grew up in ND and still live here. Just have never gotten around until recently to see our off the beaten track sites. Will keep adding what I see!
North Dakota When the NCT Conference was iin N. Dakota, I planned a tourist trip that took people into the highlights of S. Dakota and N. Dakota. I planned the trip before the Conference and we had one large 15 passenger van and a small van that we took. Saw many of the sites that you are going to. I planned mornings as driving and seeing things together. Afternoon was optional sites since we had 2 vans, but keeping 17 people happy was a chore!!!! Teddy Roosevelt was some rough and tough guy! I hope you have not left the area yet. Going to the Medora Musical is a must. We were told by locals not to miss it and it was worth it. The Badlands and Roosevelt Nat. Park are really massive areas, aren't they and beautiful in their own way.
I can't wait to hear the stories The pics look great... makes New orleans seem normal. You should have posted at least one pic of the areas still in need. The greenish water actually looks kinda pretty.
This is a beautiful area. Amy: I have been in this area a number of times. It is, as you said, so peaceful and beautiful. I have an uncle at the Vetrans Cemetery in Lisbon and so I go quite often and always enjoy the drive. I will have to get out and explore more than I have. I know there is much I have not seen.
Actually Despite growing up in North Dakota and probably driving by that buffalo 500 or more times, I have never stopped! Decided it was finally time to do so!!
once again...she is off travelling I love that area north of Valley. I got your messages on Monday...but had computer issues. They are solved and I connect to the internet again to see your awesome pics! I am so happy for you! :)
