Biltmore This is one place I have neglected to visit though it is relatively close to my home in northern Georgia... and very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway that I have toured in the past. Thanks for the virtual tour, great background information, and the unusual angles of your images... Very nice indeed!
Subdued Mood is not Easy to Capture But you did a very nice job at it! I particularly like the "Water Trickling Down the Walls" shot.... Great image!!
Also, I commend you for taking the trouble of saving that little bug on the trail... That small gesture says a lot about you as a human being... Most people would go out of their way to kill anything that crosses their path!
Awesome photos! Don't you just love the Appalachians in the spring? It's such a different place than the western mountains, and even though it wasn't as green for you as it could be, you got some great photos and sounds like you had an equally great time! I especially love the water shots; it's so romantic almost to falls like that with the long exposure. :) Hope all is well!!
Breathtaking!! I could'nt believe my eyes when we came across this a few days ago on our way home from the Black Hills!! How is it that so few know of this place? My husband and I hated to admit that it was actually prettier than the Black Hills!
Beautiful Country! This is very pretty country! It reminds me of northern Norway where I lived for a while... Is cross-country skiing practiced in ND? It would be an ideal way to explore around.
Nice sky ;) I just have to say I loved your photo with the statue and the Capitol in the background. So original! Also glad to see the government has some kind of sense of humor with the Stephen Colbert portrait. I had no idea. :)
PS thanks for the kind words before. The trip overall was amazing and hope you get back to Italy soon!
Camera I carry my camera with me. When I'm walking between buildings and there's a great shot I can do it quick then.
Over lunches, I try to go eat at a Museum. Everything is so close and accessible on the Capitol and Mall area. So much to see! Am not always so lucky...sometimes all I do is sit indoors all day at meetings!
Virtual Gallery Art Visit Thank you for this great virtual art gallery visit! I am myself on a business trip and have not had the opportunity to deviate from the hotel-office-hotel loop yet. Your blog made me feel like I have.
Great Use of One Hour It is amazing how much you can see and enjoy in between business commitments, isn't it? Most people would lack the motivation to do what you did so well. I enjoyed your narrative and photos... Specially the Capitol framed by the hooves.
art great photos of the art....It is not easy to get good pics of art pieces. Thanks for adding a Monet, he is one of my favs. Has been forever, maybe since he uses a lot of blue. :P Last time I was at the National Gallery was when I was in college...too long. :(
Bismarck, ND Very nice of you to capture your hometown in the dream-like state that some special snow storms produce now and then... It looks like a really nice place to live!
Thanks! I was stuggling with the clouds. The sun would peak through then more clouds. I like my lighthouse one because it's a little funky with light and clouds.
Thanks for stopping by...
Great Images with Character! I like very much all of your pictures in this blog. Cloudy skies typically compel people not to take any pictures, but you used the rain clouds to your advantage and gave your images an almost abstract quality. Great work!
meloncoly Enjoyed visiting Itlay with you through your blog. The photos of the alps have made me a little homesick for them...as christmas time holds such beautiful memories. :)
awesome phots I should come up with a new word besides..awesome. :) but not being very creative today...that will do. So glad you are behind in blogging since I am way behind in reading email. Looks like it is nothing but a good time! So happy for you!
