Fellow SASer Hey there- I was wondering when I would find an SASer on this blog. I sailed on the milinium voyage (F99) and it was, till this day, the best experience of my life. It is where I set my goal to travel to all 7 continents and where travel became not just something to do but a way of life for me. Since SAS I made it to my 7th continent and have traveled to 40 countries. I truely hope you get everything out of SAS you can... enjoy, "it will all be over so fast" (that is a line frmo a song my friend Carol wrote about our voyage)
thanks i read thru ur comments about Myanmar and just wanted to thanks for the impression you had.
well.. just found ur commnet by browsing some search i am looking for
Semester at Sea I was in Yangon a couple of days after Semester at Sea docked there. The Burmese I talked to were still in awe after seeing hundreds of American kids running about their city, I think its definitely a good thing SAS started going to Yangon.
So true My hubby and I spent our honeymoon on the big island and loved the fact that it was like being on two different islands. Next, we want to check out Kauai.

Hey I'm sorry, Ashley, but I didn't send you any mail. I know, I know, I'm a terrible person. But, I do miss you! Are you coming to JCU at all when you get back? Anyway, see you at some point.
Fantastic Travels Ashley,
I am enthralled with your journals. What a great adventure. Thanks so much for taking the time to send me a card. WOW1
Til later,

your journals Ashley, I am a mother of a girl on the trip, Carri Stec. I read every blog I can find and check them for updates almost every day. I have read all of yours and really appreciate that you and others take the time to write such beautiful descriptions of your adventures. It is a great way for me and other friends and families to have a peek into what you students are experiencing. I very much enjoy reading your updates. Have a wonderful experience in Myanmar and know that I will be one of the first to read it after you post it. I know that you are all very busy and have a lot of school work also. Enjoy the rest of your trip. It will be over before you know it. Thank you again,
Vicki Stec
interesting Ash,
I think the element stuff is very interesting. I bet that a person labels themselves differently than what someone else would label them--individuals might only see the best traits in themselves and want to be the most favorable element. Anyways, thanks for the cool post card. It made my day - things have been hard in LA. Janet, the world traveler, is a little homesick at age 22. Work is good. I am so exited that you are now going to India - what an amazing opportunity. You rock - take lots of pictures. Love, Janet
i miss you! Hey kiddo i wanted to say thanks for the bday card.. it really brightened up my day! it sounds like you are having an amazing time.. i can't wait to hear all about it as well as tell you all about europe!.. I went to Athens Greece this weekend and saw the olympic stadium and thought of you!! i will see you soon! have a blast! ..
I'm so jealous! It sounds like you're having a great time! It's too bad about the Kenya excursion, but it does give you reason to travel to that part of the world again! (I'd be happy to join you.) I spoke with your mom yesterday - she sounds good and is definitely missing you, looking forward to December. Keep safe and be well - talk to you soon.
hey there girl. you have mail coming, it just might be a little while. but from now on youll get it at all your stops. Sorry to hear about your slightly altered plans but i hope you are still having a blast. i cant wait till i get to talk to you again.
Woah! I love your Blog! I am so happy that you are having all those experiences. To bad about Kenya, but I know you will go back. Hey if I ever have a couple thousand - I would love to go with:) I am having a great time in LA - excluding the crazy traffic. Volunteering is a billion times better than student teaching. Woo Hoo! Have a wonderful time in South Africa! Love, Jan
Kenya That a girl! Even with disappointment, you look forward and make the best of the situation. I remember trips to the gift shop attached to an IV pole at Hackensack, going on the bike trail with a wheelchair, and cheesecake when you couldn't even taste food. I miss your spirit.
Amazing! Hey Ashley
Your mom gave me your blog address. Sounds like you're having an awesome time. I'll keep following you and pass it on to Alex also. See ya!

Ashley!
I am reading your journal and getting really excited for you. You have so many more amazing stops to make, and you've seen so much already. I miss you! Currently, the Blue Streaks are kicking Hope College's (wtf?) ass on the field outside my window. I woke up to the sounds of los bandos doing their call-time thing...I'll keep you posted and you keep me posted. Love ya!
thanks for posting mailing addresses I found your blog with addresses. My cousin and friend are on the SAS cruise. Pat Doorenbos and Craig Abrahamson. If you bump into them, please say HI. Great adventure for all, I'm sure.
Hey everybody! I'm glad you've found my journal...hopefully I am finding my way also! I'm going to be a junior at John Carroll University. This fall I am setting sail on a "voyage of discovery" with Semester at Sea. Keep checking back for more updates and please comment so I know who is tracking my travels!... full info
