We ended up staying in Varkala for 9 days. It was really enjoyable and relaxing. Very 'holiday' and touisty tho. It is coming out of season now so will be quiet. In comparison to Goa... you'd get to see more beaches in goa if you travelled up it. We found Varkala had more of a mix of people and found it a bit friendlier than goa.

Glad to read and see that you're both well and enjoying your big adventure. You both make me feel really boring when I have to try hard to think of something interesting that's happened in my life that I can tell you. I went to london for the weekend to see Todd Rundgren concert (well before your time!) Had great time until the moment when we realised that we had thrown away our return train tickets - don't ask how! Had to pay $36 ( this computer hasn't got a pound sign) to get home on the coach - train fare would have been $118.
The Crucible opens tonight - Robert set off tonight in his new uniform, looking really smart.
I am on a diet - hopefully, i won't have faded to nothing before you return.
Went to see the Strictly Come Dancing show at the Sheffield Arena. Was ok but very expensive. Just like watching an episode of the show but a worse view than from the settee on a Saturday. It was also very "scripted" - after ali and brian's dance ( giving up on capitals now - even though it pains me!) ali says " if brian and i get 3 tens we're going to get engaged. audience go wild. scores come up . 10! Cheering. 10! more cheering . 9! loud boos. You get the idea. saw chris and ola but voted for austin healy - such a great dancer - and i didn't like him on the show last year.
Must go now. Still calling T10 Gail's room!

Bangalore I've subscribed to this blog and am keen to hear about the rest of your adventure..!! I love Bangalore, it is one of my favorite Indian cities, not that there is really that much to see... Bangalore is a good practice run before going to Delhi thats for sure, although the rickshaw drivers are a lot harder to deal with in Delhi than they are in Bangalore. I'm glad you got to do the bowling though, as I dont know of any other places in India where you can go bowling!

You look relaxed - you've missed the Beautiful Snow and all the Snowmen, however it is cold.

Glad you enjoyed Hampi, there are plenty of bookshops in Bangalore if you are still resident. They are all on the MG Road.
Anyway now you are in the deep south remember to try Kodaicanal it's in the Western Ghats just inside Tamul Nadu. There are plenty of small houses to squirrel away the day in cooking your own food, smoking the charis, and going for walks.
'You may want to take a visit to the isle of Kochin it's fairly laid back, good food, and very flat which means you can hire a bike and bliss out at the landscape.
Same old same old at Shelter towers Carter has'nt stopped pontificating since your departure.

OMG You have definitely got to write a novel when you return!! Marvellous stuff-couldn't put it down! Hope you are both better now-sounds v.bad!! Anyway-enough about you! The snow has gone at last but it is really COLD. Just finished my writing course and have discovered a lot about what I am not able to do!! Going for a hot chocolate with Ros and Gilly P later so it's not all work!

Glad to hear you're both well, happy and warm! As I'm sure you know, it's freezing here. Bradfield shut for 3rd consecutive day - snow drifts now! I've not gained much as the snow days fell on my days off! Still, that's why I'm on my computer wasting time when I've got loads to do.
Not much news to report - other than snow. Mark's back at school today after 2 days closed. Matt back to uni and Rob still doing 2 jobs and school. Life goes on as normal ....... for all of US!

Jealous!!! Hi, glad to know you both got there safely. I am currently back at work for the first 'proper' day after lots of snow and a couple of snow days so a beach and sunshine seems almost an impossible thought. Anyway enjoy it and make sure you do add those pictures. x
