So glad you are doing this!
Hey Matthew! I finally joined and just read about all you've done so far. I am SO jealous, by the way! It is all so beautiful and full of history. I don't know if I will be able to read your blogs once you get to Greece, it will hurt my heart that I can't be there! Enjoy dude! Linds

Weeping Women
Hi Grandma and Grandpa, I'm glad you liked the sarcophagus, it was one of my favorite in the museum. What's so interesting is that the women on it were actually paid mourners, meaning that that was their profession, to mourn people. They completely surround the entire coffin. Mainly, I just found the way they were sculpted incredibly beautiful, because they show such emotion (especially the woman with her hand to her face). That kind of detail was revolutionary for the time.
