hi from japan yo peters, sorry about being m.i.a. the last little while but i have been sans computer for a while. we made it to japan safe and sound but ended the first night in the tokyo emergency ward with moose recieving 5 staples in the head for a bizarre bicycle accident. quite a way to get adjusted to a city of 30 million people. this is by far the craziest thing i have ever done in my life, a little bit of culture shock for a guy from perth. i will give you a more detailed storey when i have more time to write.
see ya D.
Hey Guys!! Amanda - Actually, the Chinese believe that when a bird shits on you, you have been blessed - it's good luck. Maybe it's a good conditioner, too - you never know with Mother Nature.
Hey Guys!! Jeff - You can't talk about SF like that - you're from "Perth, Perth get off the Earth and let the green grass grow."
Gotta love those guns, eh? When we were in El Salvador, we took the kids to a nice restaurant and the armed guards stood behind us while we ate. Do the gas-pumpers have guns too?
Amanda - Love that fruit girl, trust me - Here in Malaysia, you have your choice of deep-fried, thunder-thigh, heart-clogging fatty fat-ass foods, or fish eyeball soup, fish-head platter of fishy scuz, etc. Plus curry, on everything. And hot peppers. Needless to say you're probably going to come home in June skinnier than you already are, and I'll come home in December so fat that I'll be unrecognizable. I'll probably have to flag down my own father at the airport, so he'll know which kid is his.
Love you guys, Take care, Meg xx
Hey guys! I'm loving your blog but missing you! I ran into Candice on the beach in Monterrico (small world!), we played some good volleyball. I'm in school on the lake in Sad Pedro and loving it...going on to volcano #2 today! (as if the first one didn't do me in)
I'm glad you're having great times, can't wait to hear more!
Jordan :)
Hi Guys! Looks like you are having an amazing time! We especially love the beard Jeff! haha
So jealous you are in such a beautiful place! It's gross and rainy here in the nish!
Enjoy your journey together...we'll be back here to read all about it!
Shan, Ash and Sarah
Soooo jealous! Peters YOU ROCK.. I am soo impressed and totally jealous! Hey did you know my grandmother was born in Peru! ANyway, It sounds like you guys are having an amazing adventure! I ca't wait to read more.. Hugs and lotsa love, Shan

Hey All I can say is that I am so glad that you got rid of the beard and feel sorry for Amanda that she has to see you grow another one! hahaha. Have fun! PS AMAZING pictures!!
What I dont know doesnt hurt me Your Dad could never have climbed this, with his fear of heights. He asks if you were singing "Climb Every Mountain".
You never have been easy on your socks. How was the rest of your clothing when you were up there?
Hola !! Hey Gringos,
Great pics - church in Antigua,Earth Lodge, volcano climbing - looks like you guys are having a great time.
Amanda - I never realised how tall you actually are!
Jeff - the facial hair?? Also, I am interested to Know how the Guatemalins pronounce your name.
On another topic, tonight {Sat.} we get to watch another round of "The Battle of Ontario",
I wonder who will win ? As we approach the trade deadline I have to wonder who the Leafs will unload as they stumble towards not making the playoffs - John Ferguson Jr. ?, Bryan McAbe ?, Matts Sundin with his new Olympic gold medal ?
Anyway enough gloating, the Sens haven't been looking that great without Hasek, they barely beat the Penguins [4-3] and Emery looked shaky in that one, although they came back and spanked the Caps 7-1 the next night. I kind of hoped that the Sens would go after Cujo who is rumoured to be on the block since the Coyotes don't seem to be making a run, but it looks like Edmonton is going to get him. Rumour has it that Ottawa is going after Oli Jokinen from Florida, Jaques Martin wants Vermette and Volchenkov.
Ottawa gets to play most of their games this month against teams who won't make the playoffs.
Anyway - enough about hockey, sorry about that Amanda.
You guys must be excited about the new and exciting adventures awaiting you in Peru!! and we are excited to hear all about them via your excellent journal.
All is well [pretty much the same as always] around Perth, although someone did rob the Bank of Nova Scotia on Thurs.{your local news update].
Much Love
Great to hear from you wonderful couple! I'm so enjoying your journey - a proverbial vicarious journey (certainly not my favourite but with you two definately worth every smile from your great collective writings. Yes, wasn't Pacaya the most wonderful experience? I too loved it to death.
Also have to say a BIG congratulations for your joint Spanish diplomas with the short-people and a special congratulations to Jeff on that excellent facial hair. LOVE IT!!!
So, the only other question is that I thought that you guys were going to teach BEFORE going to Peru? Did I miss something or did I just have another passing 'senior moment'??!!
Sending you both my warmest hugs and love and friendship and keep these wonderful adventures coming and coming and coming.
Dee
Hello from PERTH HI Amanda and Jeff,I enjoyed seeing your pictures of the volcanoes. Yes, you certainly have grown taller since leaving Perth!
Connie Fennell
No worries...its good luck!!! Hey there guys! Love reading your blogs and seeing the pics - its like a mini vacation for those of us stuck here in the Canadian winter.
Just wanted to give Amanda the heads up that it is supposed to be good luck when a bird christens you - either that or it is one of those things people say to make you feel better after something not so great happens to you. I personally choose to believe the former so let the good luck roll!!!!
Safe travels
Hugs...amber
Amazing Views! Hi guys,
Those photos are absolutely beautiful. Hope you enjoy your last few days of language school and safe travels to Peru.
Talk soon.
lots of love, Melissa
Hey Hey guys! It's great to hear that you're having a great time. Mr Peters, I love the witty comments, they always make me laugh out loud and make my roomate stare at me funny. Stay safe and have fun, and live life. PS. Even though I live in Smiths Falls, that joke is very true. Have a great time guys!!
Big Gringo Jeff, they don't call you the Big Gringo because you're tall... I can only assume that some of them must have seen you in the shower. I've just added this site to my favourites. I'll be checking in to see your latest exploits on a regular basis. Hi Amanda.
Dom
How about some Rowdy Roddy Piper too, for good measure? "every stop I take, I make a new friend, can't stay for long just say so long and I'm gone again" lol--Just wanted to say that I think what you guys are doing is awesome and quite inspiring :) Jeff, it's also good to see your spelling skills haven't improved(j/k...sorta) :P
But are they WWE fans? Hey guys. Sounds like things are great. Jeff, seeing that they were into Luchadore, had they seen Steamboat/Savage from Wrestlemania 3? Steamboat! Nice! Corner! 3!
greetings from PERTH Hi Amanda and Jeff, Your adventures sound very interesting. Don't forget to stay in touch with Melissa. Stay safe!
Take care, Melissa's MOM
You're right your jokes are stupid Hi Amanda and Jeff (gosh I feel like I should be going to detention for not saying Mr. Peters) Anyways, I noticed one line in your most recent journal that said it takes a special kinda of person to get off the beaten path. Well, let's just say there are two special people getting the job done. You guys are doing something amazing that is inspirational, and to say the least very cool. I love reading your journals and keeping updated. Continue to take care of yourselves and each other. I await the next journal. Oh and you're right Mr. Peters, your jokes are stupid but don't worry we're all used to it by now. Love, Sarah.
We are a couple of young teachers traveling through central and south america for 5 months. We hope to meet lots of amazing people and have many new adventures along the way.... full info
