Hi Ayab, You did a Vipassana retreat but Dharamsala is the Buddhism of Tibet not Vipassana which is the Buddhism of Thailand and Burma f.ex. which don't have any Tantrism in them.
Are you interested in them ?
It's like you ate German food in Paris. Vipassana is not what Tibetans do. Get it ?
Just a question there. I know about Tibetan culture, I studied for five years in Tibetan field at Paris Uni. Speak Tibetan...Four trips to Dharamsala. Thirty five years as a Buddhist. ..etc.. Three years in India and Nepal and so forth. Good tips to pass on here. All the best. Geir.
authentically Indian Hahaa... I was all laughs when you mentioned the Gil comment, but then shocked when I got to the part that he actually asked for money at the end... and then I was appalled when he had the nerve to ask for more money!
hahahaa After I read your other blog, I had to read more! You're such a funny writer. I especially liked the math comparison, the bit about hands being black after a washing and valuable lesson 2. I'm planning on returning to Nepal through the route you came... I'm not so sure anymore!
Nice analogy I've been in India about 3 weeks and I saw "Vipassana" on your blog and read it (I just finished the course 4 days ago). Anyhow, the bit on Indians/children was interesting. Sort of puts the whole chaos I've seen so far in to perspective.
