Great blog. In 10 weeks time I'm about to start the Annapurnas trek too and can't wait. Any packing tips that you wouldn't have thought bringing?
I was in Thailand last year and it's a beautiful country, once you get out of Bangkok! Go to the coast and get on the beaches and out of the city which is too hectic.
Elliot
p.s. if you get an oppertunity to go rock climbing in Thailand then do it. Do anything you can to do it. One of the best places in the world for it.
Happy Xmas Marv Hi Mate, how you doing. I am very well thanks and currently in Cambodia which is great fun. I am due to go to Vietnam and will be going there shortly but have got a little sidetracked at present but will be there for xmas and new year. Are you and the family ok. Did you see Dans comment. He is moving to Dubai. Great news for him. I am very happy to hear this and we must ensure that when i get back we make plans to see him otherwise we wont see him unless we go to Dubai which will be a adventure. Following Spurs all the way and they are doing very well at the moment. Gutted about Arsenal result though. Of all the teams to go and get thrashed, Arsenal get us. I was even more gutted as i was watching this match with Prev in a pub in Thailandanti climax. Sorry to hear about the work situation. Keep your chin up and i am sure that it will get better and something will come up. You take it easy and have a great xmas and new year amigo and i will speak to you very soon. Poppy
Hi poppy Hi mate. Hows it going in nepal? sorry havnt sent you a message for a while all full steam ahead spending stupid amounts of money on the girls for Xmas. All worth it though.
Spurs update as always, not sure how much you have seen or up to date with. Lost to the scum they paid the ref, thrashed charlton no surprise where excellent against dinamo last night good game. So up and down nothing we are not used to.
Applied for a new job and got stiffed by the manager (what a twat) going for another got that 2 year job itch. Sent a card to benbella with my email address on it so you never know we may make contact with the otherside.
Need an update on your travels, and that picture of everest.
Take care of yourself and Jim and hope you find somewhere excellent to spend Xmas day.
Take care mate speaksoon
Happy xmas
Marv and family.
Got your text msg Hey guys, hope your well in Thailand. Got your text msg about having pad thai in the morning. You guys are funny! Can't wait to see the pictures, so upset that I couldn't be there to meet you both. Remember to wear googles, if you get too close, those ping pong balls could put your eye out! Lots of love to you both, Pee
Belly is going to get ya! Hi Andrew - after 7 weeks that wasn't bad going! It really does sound like the kind of experience everyone should have in their lifetime - hope I get to see a small part of it at least (could do without seeing the conveyer belt cremations though!)
You are obviously a natural at all this backpacking stuff and should do it for a living. You are North London's answer to Michael Palin and that is high praise coming from me :-)
Hope the Himalayas don't seem like an anti climax after your weird and wonderful experiences in India...
Take care

Sounds Like Edmonton Hi Pop
Excellent last entry almost like being there. Just been down the pub with my brother for a nice cold beer, couldnt do without it, dont know how you can survive! Thursday UEFA cup game Club Brugge should be a good one, hopefully Defoe wont bite anyone this time. Your descriptions of India sounds like the old days in the edmonton snooker club with pee and filth everywhere.
Had a cracking curry Saturday night plenty of chicken and hot sauce lovely. Good luck in Nepal say hi to the Dahli Lama for me we go way back(LOL). See if you can get a good few pictures of everest if you go that way would be cool to see from your point of view. All is good this end, my brother is about to be made redundent which he is well happy about, dad is still mad mum still drinking nan still moaning. Gemmas got specs now no surprise there, Lucy is crackers no surprise there and julie is still waxing ladies bits (NICE). Work is work and crap nothing changes.
Take care of yourself

Hello Marv Marvin, wont be long until we get back into the Ghandi mate for a good lod chicken jalfrezi and a few at the Taps. I do miss my ice cold fosters so dearly and of course being mostly vegetarian here, i do miss my chicken so much. Is everything good there, we have been playing a bit better lately which is good and have accumulated a bit of a decent run at last eh. My friend Jimmy arrived today which is very cool and we are off to the Taj for the day tomorrow then heading into Nepal on the 1st November. Marv, you dont know how much of a welcome relief being in Nepal will be, no filth everywhere, pollution, cows, goats, dogs, people, pee, rubbish. Just clean air and mountains. Cant WAIT hehehehehehheheheh.
Let me know what the news is marvin and speak very soon. Think of me when you are eating your next nice juicy steak, for in Nepal i am aware, they eat alot of and mostly dahl, AKA Lentils.
Adios amigo.
Hello Hello Andre and Gerrit, I hope that you are both well and are happy back in Germany. For me, I leave India in a few days and am very happy to be leaving to go to Nepal. I did write an email to you, did you get it OK?? I look forward to hearing from you soon, Andreas.
Buenos Dias Hola Amigos, Commo esta?? I hope that you have a safe flight home from crazy Kolkatta and I look forward to hearing from you soon when you return. I am off to Nepal in a few days and am very happy about this. Buenos Noches, Andreas
More from kidg. Hi Best mate,
Wow, I can't get over how things haven't changed that much from the late 70's when last I was doing what you are now. I too always said that the things that stood out in my memory were the experience of train travel, the pepole and the diversity of the life quality of the people. Goa for me was a bit of an oasis in the mind numbing different experience of travelling from North to south of the country.
Train travel is such a great way of meeting the population. I managed to get around the whole of India on an Indirail Pass which cost me $30 American on 2nd class sleeper. How does that compare with now? looking at the picture of you in the rail compartment they still have the same beds!!!!
Now that Phillimore is finished I'm in at the start of the job at Eastbourne Terrace with some of the team from the old job - SB, trainee director, Rob Chiles, T-Bone, Forsyth, Gower, Marcia and Aggi are there as well. Also running over to Slough PFI a couple of days a week to see Handjob, Nosey senior and junior, Sam and now Grego has joined them as well. God, that M25 is a pain!! Up to 3hrs each way. It truly is a car park!
Got some great news last week from No. 2 son and partner. I'm going to be a Granddad. How cool is that? I told Handjob and now, instead of calling me "the Daddy" he calls me the Grandaddy". Bas****d. I'm too young !!!
Anyway best mate, its really great to hear your doing OK and still having a blast. I don't see anything yet about the condition of your guts. I can't believe youve not got a dose of something yet!
Keep on taking care of yourself
Best Mate.
PS. TBone has got me a couple of tickets for me to take No. 4 to the Spurs/ Wigan match at the end of November. I hope your lot have shaped up a bit by then. if not I'll be asking for my money back!
BM.
Lunch Hello Andrew
I visited your mum and dad's today and we have come to debbie's place to look at your trouble blog - you look like you are having a great time and I am very proud of you for going off and doing all that. I have your number now so I will send you a text. Love Nouna x
Not much! hello little bro
glad to hear you are still enjoying doing your thing, wish i was travelling on the trains in india, sounds like quite an experience. Hurry up and get some more photos up on the site, mum loves seeing her little sunshine boy's face smiling up at her! I am glad Jimmy is joining you soon for the next leg of your journey, be careful with all that energetic adventuring. I went to antenatal yoga last week and I was exhausted by the time we went round the circle of pregnant women telling everone our names and what our food cravings are! Will send you another email with some admin stuff you need to come back to me about...missing you lots, dx
Gibson How you doing my man Gibbo. India is crazy and excuse the pics of all these crazy men kissing me. India is a weird place though Gibbo, men openly and gladly hold bloody hands walking down the street and no way will you ever see any man showing any kind of affection to a women here. It is a messed up place man big time and far from any place where we are at in this lifetime. I have just finished a week in the Andamans which were just awesome and I done a couple of scuba dives for my first time which were very enjoyable. How are you, which project have they got you working on and hows your mate Alf Stpehenson. How is Ms Rowsell getting on in the far east also, you must be missing her lots? Take care Gibbo and speak soon.
Hola Magic Hi Marv, how you doing man. Is everything ok with ya. I am nearly now finished in India and off to Nepal in a week which i am very happy about. Cant believe that Spurs are struggling so much in the league but at least we managed to beat West Ham on Saturday and seem to now be actually able to score goals. did you hear from Ben lately?? I just finished a week in Andaman Islands which were just outta this world and right now I am in West Bengal which much like each different place in India is another different experience. Is work ok and what are you thinking of in terms of getting together with Dan, it would be fun and I would be well up for meeting In Norfolk for a long weekend, what do you think? Take Care Magic.

Hurry up and come home! Hello andreas mou it all looks very exciting I like all your messages they're very funny but we're missing you. I'm making yemista today so we'll be thinking of you when we sit down for dinner.
Jimmy's coming over today to pick up your sleeping bag, so I might send a tupperware with him for you . . . . Look after yourself love mum x
Tracey AKA?? Hi Tracey, i was trying to remember your alias that Pee told me but i cant. Thanks for writing. It certainly is an adventure here in India. The cow situation here really is crazy, i am actually worried that one will attack me soon. I hope that your course is going well and that your sleeping pattern is becoming abit more stable!!!. I am sure that you would love it here with all the Orphans and street kids but it is just so difficult here [and probably everwhere] as there are just so many kids everywhere. I would love to have done a bit to help and aside from giving some kids as they come along a bit of food/drink, I havent gone to work for an aid agency or anything. I have met many people who have it is just a great thing they are doing and i wish that I had a little more time so that I could settle for a month somewhere and help, maybe next time. Take Care Tracey , Andreas x
Pee Pee, Cant believe that you are not meeting me in BKK. I trust that yo family will still be meeting me though. Hope all is well, if you have any extra interesting gossip or otherwise that you believe I should be aware of, email me as comments appear on my web after I have reviewed and accepted them. I have only had to delete one email so far, from the X man due to its contents which would not have made nice reading to most people. Is everthing else ok, dont forget you are going to build my website for me a while after I come back. Take Care love andreas.
Kidg Monster Hi Kidg, how you doing. So sorry about delays in writing but to put an entry together downnloading photos and all [especially with the writing difficulty I have!!] takes me bloody ages and I like to respond to everyone so it takes me a little time.
I am finished in Goa and like yourself, I really did like it. Every place is so different, its just crazy here. One day I like it, one day i dont. Thats how its been pretty much from day 1 here and it is still like it now so cant imagining that changing much. Being British is probably the best thing here as Indians love it and treat you so well [mostly]. Loving the train journeys here and travelling is so enjoyable and unrestricted and they still have such nice ways here that very much remind me of what Engalnd would have been like all those years ago.
I hope that you are well. Where have they moved you to. I understand that the job is now finished literally which is great news. I hope that you are not working too hard and thanks for the Spurs update. We really are struggling to play at the moment and that Liverpool display was outrageous.
Hope the boys arent giving too much grieg carly, aye, speak soon Monster.
Hi all. This is me fully loaded and ready to go. After my 2 month trip last year to South America with my big sister, I got that taste of travelling in my blood and decided to venture off again. Unfortunately due to my sister having a few more commitments than me, she was unable to join me and so reluctantly I set off again all on my own. I will be meeting a couple of friends along the way who whilst they arent as fortunate as me to spend a whole 5 months travelling, I am sure that they will do their best to enjoy thier shorter periods of time away from work. I hope that you will all enjoy you... full info
