Heaven on earth! What fabulous pictures!!! I want to come over and walk throuigh the leaves and gaze at that wonderful lake surrounded by mountains!
Thanks for sharing your pictures (via your mom, my cousin)
I knew a weekend trip would do the trick! Paradise is where it's at! Find it wherever you can! Closed youth hostels add to the adventure. Good job; now, do it again!
really? Mom didn't even tell me she was going to the wedding. Wow! 11-11 is a great date for a wedding... what a lucky number.
Europe is great, but I also envy you for living on the East Coast ;) someday I will make it there.
oct 15 hello from MD Your mother sent me your blog and I enjoyed your pic and comments very much. I taught 6th grade for 15 years and loved that age too. I envy you the trip as I've never been to Europe. I'm looking forward to seeing your mother at our wedding on 11/11.
Yes, mothers are great :) Hi Barbara,
Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like the blog - Lauren's visit was really fun!
Haha, I will definitely tell a Mozart impersonator about your love of the Magic Flute ;)
Alia
From Lauren's Grandma Hi Alia, Your mother sent your travel blog to Lauren's mother who sent your blog to her mother, that's me. Aren't mother's wonderful? I love it, and I can't help but feel envious of young people who are able to see the world this way. Your middle school class sounds very interesting as well.
When you see one of those Mozartians with a Magic Flute, tell him I love his opera! Looking forward to reading more.
SNOW?! Whoa! What the heck is that about? That is so so early.
Speaking of the Zauberfloete, that is going on right now at the opera house a couple blocks from where I live. I'm going to go see in on Sunday - I heard the Queen of the Night part is REALLY well-done. We'll have to compare notes. Which orchestra is playing it? The MN orchestra or the SPCO, do you know?
Haha, definitely let me know if there's an impersonator. They can be fun people ;)
Hi Dana!! Of course we should meet!!!! That's awesome! What are you going to be doing in Austria?! Yay, that makes me excited :)
Just let me know when you'll get here and I would be glad to meet you at some really big landmark like the Stephansdom or something. Do you know yet where you are staying??
Loved, loved, loved your blog, Alia! And--I hope to see you in Austria next month! I will be there for a very short visit in early November (maybe November 5-7)....Is there any chance we could meet for a cup of coffee in your favorite place, or a chat with one of your Mozart impersonators?
Hope all is well!
Love,
Dana
Hello! Hi Grandmama, Thank you so much for the comment! I appreciate it, even while you are so busy in KC. I'm glad you are having so much fun with Aunt Martha and your friends.
I miss my Mozart impersonator friend - I don't know where he went :(
I will! Especially the mozeralla ones. Thanks for the comment, Aunt Martha! I'm so glad you are having fun w/ Grandmama.
You've been to Salzburg?? I went there a few weekends ago. It's beautiful!! Did you go to the church where Mozart was baptised? That was one of my favorite things there.
Yay for Poland :) Really? That's really cool. Krakow is really nice! I am definitely having fun :) Maybe sometime I will meet Father Peter, and can talk to him about Krakow.
Hi Julie :) Thanks for the comment! I love the Mozart everything here. Mozart is everywhere, especially because it is his 250th anniversary.
There are things I miss about MN, though, I won't lie.
Hi from Grandmama Your blog w/the pix is wonderful! (Monday night here). I'm having a great week in KC, staying with Aunt Martha, and she and I have done things with some of my friends too. Exciting to see the pictures and know all you've been doing!!! I'll fly home Thursday. Glad you "met" Mozart impersonators!! Thanx for sharing everything with us!!! LOVE, Grandmama
Save me one of those sandwiches! Your mother just sent your new blog on here so your grandmother and I could read it. Sounds like you are having a fabulous time. Is the Stephensdom as interesting and beautiful inside as it looks in your picture? I have never been to Vienna but have spent some lovely time in Salzburg. Now I want to go overseas again. I am absolutely thrilled that you have this opportunity to experience life beyond here and get a new perspective on the world.
Preist We have a Polish preist at St. Joes named father Peter. He lived in Krakow before coming here. You're going so many cool places! You must be having SO much fun!
jealous in MN Jealous here in MN! I've never been across the ocean, but I'm glad somebody is making the venture! I enjoyed the Mozart comments the most :o)
Hi! Wow, that's so great you have been here. I'm so glad you have been able to experience it. Where in Vienna did you stay? I live in the first district, by the Stephansdom.
Wow, that's amazing you got to have dinner in one of Mozart's old buildings. I always sort of get chills when I know that a famous composer has been walking in the exact same location that I am.
How cool to be in Vienna!! I like your blog Alia; you are visiting one of my favorite cities! Last year, I spent only about 8 days there, but it was incredible. I had a nice tour of St Stephen's conducted by one of the 12 parish priests and later had a meal in his home--which is in one of the buildings where Mozart lived...
