Hi Everyone, What a great day we had yesterday. A lot of it was spent in the car, but we had a lot of ground to cover in order to get from Chiang Mai to Doi Mae Salong. We started out around 9am, checked out of the Chiang Mai Residence, Sophia didn't want to leave. She loved it there. We immediately headed to a childrens orphanage. Gosh, I wanted to take them all home. The staff was really friendly and you could tell that the children are well cared for. It was so sad though. When we walked in the door the kids got so excited and immediately began running for us and jumping all over us. The boys headed straight for Eddie. At one point he had three 1-3 years olds in his arms saying, ... read more

Hey Everyone, Gosh, all this activity is catching up to us. We are all so tired... Today was another eventful day, although Sergeant Kai kept us busy, we didn't feel like we were running. The morning started off around 9am when Sergeant Kai picked us up at the Chaing Mann Residence. We started the morning off at this amazing temple, although the name escapes me at the moment. It was so beautiful and elborate like many of the temples but this one came to have two special qualities for us. First, upon arriving we took off our shoes and went inside where a monk was blessing couples that wanted to get married. It was very nice to be able to watch, the people are so friendly and open here. While providing the blessing, the monk began ... read more

Hi Everyone, Well today was all I expected and more. We were picked up at our hotel around 9am and taken about 1.5 hours out of town to the Elephant Nature Park. This is an elephant sanctuary for abused elephants that have been poorly treated in the logging or tourism industry, for the most part. These guys and gals have had such a rough time of things from tramatically having their eyes polked out to being beaten beyond belief, this place rescues these elephants and allows them to live out the rest of their lives in peace. We as tourists pay to go spend some up close time with these creatures in an enviornment that is unlike any other. Upon arriving, we were given some ground rules, mostly common sense things. We then spent some time ... read more

Hey everyone, Oh my goodness, what a great time we are having! It took about 24-hours to get here, it felt longer then that, but it was so worth it!! The flights themselves were fairly uneventful, but we did make friends with some of the flight attendants, well Audrey did!! Everytime they had a break in meal service, they would come by, grab her and take her to the back to play with her. She was passed around the plane like a little doll and loved every minute of it. This was our Eva Air flight and poor Sophia was so tired that she slept through the whole thing. We arrived into Thailand around 4pm and to our hotel around 5:30pm, they lost our luggage for awhile, so it took a little longer. Our guest house ... read more

Hi Everyone, So we made it to Eddie's parents house around 11pm. Our flight left on-time at 8:45pm and the flight was pretty uneventful. Sophia loved the window seat, loved take-off and landing. I think the most exciting part was when Sophia had to go to the bathroom. I didn't want to leave her in there, by herself so had the bright idea that we could both fit in, ha, what a comedy or errors that was. It cut about 10 minutes out of the flight though. Audrey did good accept the last 20 minutes or so. They put us on a tiny plane, so they made me check my carry on which held all the toys and snacks. We made due though with barf bags and straws. We leave tonight at 11:15pm for Thailand. The ... read more

Hello Everyone, This is one of my most favorite places in the world and it's in Wheatland, Calif. I know, it sounds funny, but the kids have so much fun. What a great day we had together with our friends the Daley's. This place is amazing. You get there and park, walk right in and there are train rides, petting zoos, corn mazes, hay rides to the pumpkin patch, a big slide mountain and so so much more. The food in wonderfully amazing too. Although, I couldn't partake in my usual corn dog and apple cake, because of my illness, I had the most amazing tri-tip salad. I am still thinking about it and will have it again for sure net year!!! YUM YUM. ... read more
