Very Readable We are heading to Japan next month and i have really enjoyed your very descriptive ..er descriptions?.. anyway, you make Lonley Planet look like drunken irishmen. Keep up the good work!
Very unfortunate about mistaking the two airports. It's very unfortunate that you went to the wrong airport. The international hub is Kansai International Airport (KIX) representing the whole Kansai region, whereas Osaka Airport is a local domestic only airport. The two are around 50kms apart, correct, and the journey by taxi in Japan is really that expensive, correct also (that includes the payable expressway - the 4km bridge that connects KIX island and Honshu alone costs 800 yen). There are frequent buses between the two airports, so you might have taken the bus instead, or asked for help from the airport staff in English to be informed of the fastest and the cheapest way to get to KIX...
At KIX, if you check in 40 minutes before international departure you'd be safe.
In any case, I'm glad that you made it in time. I hope your memories of Japan won't be a bad one because of this incident...
The reason why your train stopped You were on a local train that stops at every station. The reason it was stopped was to wait for the express train that only stops at certain stations. This gives passengers the chance to transfer to the local line. Hope that clarifies your mystery :) Come back soon, we need your dollars !!
Will prolly move to Japan and hope for career in maid cafe. Which incidentally is prolly heaps less suss than photographing chilrens.
But ps. Totally worth it. That is so cute it should be illegal. Wait. What?
Toilets have all these fancy buttons to spray water at ya, warm the seat, blow hot air at ya, play a 'toilet flushing' sound effect to disguise whatever terrible and unnatural things might be happening in that cubicle...and yet you have to push a lever like some kind of BARBARIAN to actually get the toilet to flush.
Probably the best thing I have ever read. Also stop being a barbarian pls mate.
vampire capes ie, why are there no photos of this?
PS "Amy, can you look at this work related thing?" me: "no i'm busy reading about my cousin in hello kitty land"
