NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
That was not the real authentic meat on stick.. but it was an evil avenger to try and combat you from your weakness of loving meat on stick..
Once you get back to Canada my friend, we will find you the best meat on a stick on the entire island.. just for you.
I completly burst out laughing when i imagined you two on that elephant ride and that you had rugburn from an elephant!! Omg Nagle.. you just made my day!!

Amazing experiences..... Kim, Your trip sounds thought provoking and life altering. All those experiences will make you experience Canada and people differently when you get home! I was interested in your comments about the poor village being like a ZOO. I heard a speaker at RRU once who lamented what he described as a "second tier economy" that was growing in third world countries. This economy was a result of tour operators and military personnel making money from showing tourists, humanitarian students and well meaning NGO staff the poverty and conflict in their countries. I imagine some good could come from this economy if some of this money finds it's way to the people who need it, but personally I think it is mostly exploitive and the result of greed and indifference on the part of the those who have access to the transportation systems. I've often wondered what role we as Canadians and travellers could play? When I traveled in Mexico last year, I had trouble reconciling my own comfort and enjoyment of the country with the obvious lack of wealth being generated for the locals. A good conversation for us to have over a glass a wine when you get back.
Meanwhile, back in Langford BC. I'm settling into my new digs and loving it. Safe travels. Look forward to seeing the photos. Suzanne
oh man who would think you would get rug burn from an elephant? And I am totally not surprised you caved into the meat on a stick haha especially after watching you get the Extreme Burger at Moxies hehe
oh man lol meat on a stick. I love the fact that even though you kind of knew it was going to be gross, your adventurous and exploratory nature got the better of you and you HAD to eat one. I may not know you very well Kim, but that seems like such a Kim character trait.
I hope you took a camera with you because there's a lack of pics in this travel blog.
nice, gotta love running around in the rain And that must have been pretty cool riding around on elephants, did you ride on the same one or different ones?
