I would rather join the escapees than eat that faux yogurt. And you are not eliciting any sympathy from us as you swelter in the 90s while we shiver in the sub zeros. But then...we're just jealous. See you when you get back. We'll buy you some real yogurt! k/p
Next year will be your year to escape MI winters. Maybe we can escape together!! How is your second retirement going? We are so happy for you. The Freedom!!
Thanks Kathie! You made my day! I wish you were following us. Only problem would be that Terry could not get a word in edgewise. Hope you are well and the package arrived for Jack. Love.
Keeping in Touch Dear Sissie and Terry,
So glad to hear from you and that you are enjoying yourselves in the southwest, even if you do miss people back in Michigan, land of snow and cold.
It just keeps on snowing here--and being cold. Some of went to see Unbroken, you probably heard. I'm listening to Bob Dylan CD's and reading biographies about him. Learning a lot about American Music and how widely he was influenced by-and influenced it himself. Remember-- we'll talk about you at Nancy's on the 17th.
Love,
Gail
See you are making use of your time. Ya, flu season. We got it, too. Sounds like you are seeing interesting places, again, and meeting new people. The fun part of camping. Campers, hunters, fishing folks all seem to be friendly people. As for being with family for Christmas we spent a week or so with daughter and family in Orlando area, sister/husband drove up from Naples as well, and visited long time friends in the area. Back in Culver. I'm steeling myself right now to bundle up and clear the 4-5 inches of snow we got last night. It's 8 degrees and I'm not too interested in the endeavor. Take care. Stay safe. As for pack rats, not an experience I'd want.
Can we get together either in Flagstaff or Surprise? We're going to Vegas Thursday and return (to Surprise) Saturday afternoon. We'll both be there Sat, & Sunday evening I come back to Flagstaff.....Kathy remains in the valley during the week. Address in Flag is 5601 White Horse Drive....Cosnino exit off I-40. Sorry we missed you @ church in October.

Jealous! Sounds like you two are really enjoying yourselves on this trip. Having been to many of the areas you go to brings back many great memories. The only difference is you stay much longer than we did. Again, this country offers many beautiful sights to see and experience. Thanks for the blog, quite detailed. Enjoy what you see and who you meet. And above all, stay safe.
See you are making use of your time. Looks like you two spent some time in places we've been to. The areas you've been to so far are awesome. However, you guys are more adventurous in the hiking and biking part. Enjoy it all. I like the Blog Map, nice touch. I can relate to the body isn't willing at times. I'm trying to finish the barn bathroom, but it is going slow. Suddenly my left shoulder hurts? Finished a home water installation for friends, and a carport for another. One more pump/tank installation for another friend and I'll stop, except for my projects. Take care and stay safe.
Re: Identity I looked closely and identified you guys in the photo. I look in the mirror and have difficulty recognizing myself. Your Temecula/Palm Springs adventures brought you close to my stomping grounds. Remembering the Old Golden 70-80s-- Jerry in northern San Bernardino
Capitol Reef; Where are all the visitors? Really appreciated your blog. Just returned from Capitol Reef myself. It must be one of the most under-visited and unappreciated parks in the National system.
cool adventure Nancy and Terry...
We have really enjoyed reading about your adventures and now we are equally glad to have you "home." We had a ball last Sunday just sitting on the deck with the neighbors, chatting and laughing. We're looking forward to more of the same asthe summer approaches. Phi9l just got his schedule - has tues and Sun off until at least July1. Still working 6a-2:30p. At least he's not working nights. Hope we can head your way soon - can be on the road by 3p - at your place by 4ish - we want to roam around the new condo. Let us know!
c u soon...k/p
WOW! I can't believe your travels. You guys must be having a ball. Lots of relatives, lots of friends, lots of fun. Pics are great. So...did you actually get a new CSD? On purpose? Ayiii!
And what about this 7 days without electricity? I am beginning to worry about you. Do you have a battery powered curling iron and hair drier? This really has gone far enough! Come home...I can help.
love...K
The new year brings change and we are making the biggest change ever by becoming full-time RVers on January 1, 2008. We're both thrilled and scared. After retirement we made a pledge to make the most of each day while keeping in close contact with our 4 wonderful children and 8 well-loved grandchilren. They and we have committed to make that closeness happen. This travel blog will help keep the contact coming with family and friends we do not want to leave behind.... full info
