Since we miss all of you when we travel we’re returning to blogging about our trip so that we can keep in touch along the way. We hope you’ll respond and let us know what you are doing and of course let us know how much you’re missing us too, even if you really don't.

We had decided to travel “out west” even before we knew that our Care-A-Vanner Reunion group was not officially building together this year. Our group is simply getting older and less able to tackle some of the work involved. The will is there but the body objects! There is a smaller group building in Florida and we will miss being there with them. Our plan is to join in for a few drop in builds along the way rather than signing up for a certain time frame. We don’t really want to give up this satisfying work.

We left our condo on Gun Lake on October 18, just a few days after returning from my 50th nursing school reunion in Pittsburgh. We had a ball there reliving those years although wondered how this much time had passed and how we all could look so darn old! We were all so proud to have graduated from Presby and grateful for the opportunities that wearing that stovepipe cap has given us.

Our trip to date has included a stopover in St. Louis to visit the Gateway Arch. We traveled up the 650 or so feet inside the arch in a small egg shaped tram. It was not exactly a smooth ride but we made it down without loss of life or limb. The museum on the ground floor was a tribute to westward expansion and those brave souls who made that possible, particularly the Lewis and Clark Expedition. We find that expedition to be an amazing accomplishment and have traveled areas of the trail during our travels. I just completed a quilt symbolizing the elements which made the trip successful.

We stopped in Aurora, CO to visit cousins Reed and Sandy Ahlquist. Reed is not nearly as scary as when I was a kid! We loved spending time with them and planning the Reed Reunion in Columbus next summer. Our next stop was in Montrose to visit our old friend Marie Heroux. We hiked in Ouray and relaxed in the natural hot springs there and watched 2 of the World Series games. We rooted for the losing team but loved watching this evenly matched series.

We’re now in Moab, UT hiking and biking in the lovely and warm weather. We’ve hiked Fischer Towers and watched a guy free fall from the highest mountain as a part of a production promoting Red Bull. Watch for it on UTube in late December and remember that you too could fly with a dose of Red Bull! We hiked Coruna Arch and biked the Colorado River path. Dead Horse State Park was outstanding. We hiked to the point where legend has it that cowboys would use this point to corrral wild horses and then choose the best. The tale also says that they left the rest of the horses there to die of dehydration. Really nice! We hiked to the Grand Arch and enjoyed the Green River Lookout.

We're on to Las Vegas on 11/3 for 2 weeks. More later.

See you are making use of your time.
Looks like you two spent some time in places we've been to. The areas you've been to so far are awesome. However, you guys are more adventurous in the hiking and biking part. Enjoy it all. I like the Blog Map, nice touch. I can relate to the body isn't willing at times. I'm trying to finish the barn bathroom, but it is going slow. Suddenly my left shoulder hurts? Finished a home water installation for friends, and a carport for another. One more pump/tank installation for another friend and I'll stop, except for my projects. Take care and stay safe.
