Welcome Home? At this point, I am not sure if you have arrived at your finally destination but I would like to be one of the first to say, Welcome Home! I know I am not there to greet you when you arrive but it will still be nice to know that you have made it back safely and better for the experience. I hope you get some time in the coming weeks to tell me all about it!!
Missed you...
Sean
USAA Your trip from Romania to Brussels had me laughing out loud. What an experience, and if you ever miss it, you can come visit on the rez.....
You got a letter from USAA saying that you accessed their site and changed your password on Mon. June 19. If you did, fine. If it was an unauthorized change, you need to call 800-759-8722 and let them know. I will not be leaving for Sundance on the 9th, so I'll be around. Let me know if you want to be picked up or have your car delivered. Love, Mom
what an amazing experience!! Hiya honey! I lurve reading your blogs! Sounds like you are having an amazing time and really enjoying the experience! I'm back to the daily grind in London. Summer is finally here so the days are longer and warmer. Not much else to report on. Can't wait to read about the rest of your journey! xo
Glad you are having fun I'm enjoying reading all your blogs. What a fun and exciting and meaningful trip you are having! Enjoy! Can't wait to read the rest.
Hugs from Edmonton.
Negligent... Hey Cara,
Well I was not one of those people that have been directly named as being negligent with the emails, I am pretty sure that I fall into that category. So I am leaving a comment for now and I will explain more in an email later.
Anyway, it sounds like you are having a great experience that I am sure you can share with all of us when you get home. For now, enjoy the time you have left and I will talk to you soon.
Smiles, Sean
Glad to hear you're having so much fun! Hey Cara! I have read all your blogs, but didn't expect you to be able to read and reply to email. Boulder has been very hot but we've gotten some random rain here and there. I am still working on that silly last section of my thesis...trying to stay positive, because I'm ready to not be doing any more of this! I had eye surgery and it turned out alright...my eye still bothers me because it's so freakin' dry here. Will have surgery next month on the other eye. Will leave for France at the beginning of August! See you very soon!!! Hugs, Dr. V :-)
Hi From Roger and Margaret Hi Hon,
We enjoyed your last blog. Maybe I can get our chorus involved in sending over some clothes etc. There are also a lot of Romanians here that might want to help as well. You can fill me in on the details of where to send it etc. when we get there. We are leaving here Thursday and will be in London and will visit Nanny. Everything so far is on track and we will meet you Tuesday as planned. We will try to get on a computer Saturday at friends near London. You have your Dad's cell phone number if you need to call for any reason.
Love,
Margaretxx
Your last entry was so fun to read' What an awesome experience! See if you can find the best way to get stuff there. Newborn clothes are easy. I can even get a rocker. I need to know about shipping. Love, Mom
Hey Cara,
This sounds like the most fulfilling part of the trip for you! I think it's a pretty cool thing your doing--makes me want to jump in and do it, too. I understand the missing home part -- it'll be great to see you when you get back!
Bill
Hey Cara! Wow! It seems like you are having an amazing trip. I was just reading through your page and I wanted to say Hi. I hope the rest of your trip is just as exciting if not more. Just to let you know my semester went good and my summer class is cool. I look forward to reading more about your adventures. Take care:)
Back in the office Hi Cara - It is great to come back and be able to catch up on your travels. I had an amazing experience in the Grand Canyon. No showers either, and the river is 52 degrees (think Tobermory). 115 degrees and no shade climbing the 7.5 miles out of the Canyon - I'd do it again tomorrow! It will take us two years to compare travel tales. Crispin leaves today for the oil fields in Alberta, no vacation for him, but it will be a good experience. Think of you everyday. Love, Mom
Hiya Gorgeous! Have finally made it back to London and so happy to read that you arrived in Bucharest safely. Your adventures since we parted sounds absolutely fabulous! Have missed my travel buddy muchly! Needless to say, have a fantastic time in the village! xo
Hi Cara,
Glad to hear that you've made it to Bucharest and met up with Alexandru! I've got to make it over there sometime indeed. Anywho, be well in the village and we'll all hear from you soon (in a month :) ) .
Take care... Hey Cara, just wanted to send you a quick comment to tell you to take care of yourself over the next month!! I hope you get a chance to keep us all up to date on your adventures but if not, I look forward to hearing all about them when you return. Smiles :-)
Too Bad It's too bad that we cannot be judged for ourselves in this world and are painted with whatever brush is the most visible. I think you handle yourself beautifully in all social situations and it is clearly evident in your blog notes, that is if people took the time to read all of them.
Roger and I are enjoying your travel adventure and are sharing it with many friends. They, too are travelling vicariously with you.
Love,
Mxx
:( I totally agree with the above comment, I live in Venice and it hurts seeing ppl like you hanging around Italy like having no point of what are they seeing, it's maybe better you save your money staying at home or smt else, and i hope you will never tell anyone you have VISITED Italy with such a poor trip! It's just a suggestion I hope you don't mind, but when I have been visiting NY in a week I felt so stupid as there was so much to see and not enough time ... and Italy has much more to offer in terms of history, culture and tradition .... just ppl seems don't care about it, so what's the point of coming there!?! Finally I am pretty sure everybody prefers Canadian than Americans, politeliness fwt!
Last: Venice and Italy are like this because of the tourists, but if you learn traveling someday you will be able to find and appreciate the REAL part of my (beloved :D ) country.
Really sry but I can't tell that to any ppl asking me what to see in half a day here, just an outburst! (and sry for my awful English!)
Cheers
Anna
Outta here! Hi Sweetie, I agree it the headache sounds like neck. You are also probably not drinking as much water as you are used to, especially with the changes in altitude. Try putting ice on it (and your hands in warm water at the same time). Tricky, but trust me. ** I have so enjoyed your journals. It's been exciting, and I admit reassuring, to follow along, and I look forward to catching up when I return. I am trying to finish up my desk today so that I can leave tonight or early tomorrow. We come out of the canyon on June 3rd, but I won't be back online or in cell phone country until June 12. Keep on having a wonderful time! Love, Mom
headache Hi Cara,
We look it up. It sounds like neck problems. When I had whiplash, the pain radiated almost the same. I will send this to Laurel (massage therapist) and ask her if she had some ideas.

So glad you think that Venice is my favourite place in the world, and I'm always relieved to hear that the majority, like you, only give it a few hours. That leaves the greater part of the islands free for those of us who are prepared to spend a little more time just soaking in the atmosphere, mingling with the locals, and learning about its history and culture. There's so much to find beyond the Gucci shops and the Grand Canal, and I warmly encourage you not to bother!
Seriously - I hope you at least take home a sense of how the Italian way of life is something to be admired. Enjoy the rest of your (whirlwind) trip.
Hi from Swan River! Hi Cara,
I am here visiting Dad, Laurel, Ray and the girls. Dad is the hospital in Rehab, we had a few days of worry as he had symptoms of Restless Leg Syndrome and was in constant pain. The doctor finally got him on some medication that is used for Parkinson patients, but a low dose and it is working well, he is almost back to his old self! Everyone says HI and wishes you a safe and happy trip! I hope you don't mind, but I have shared some of your accounts with them. They are very interesting!
Love,
Margaretxx
Yo what up??? Sounds like you are having a little of the F.U.N. It's good to see other parts of the world with your own eyes, and see that they actually exsist day to day outside of books and movies isn't it. Today was the first day of the year that I've worn shorts, real spring is finally here and it feels good. Take as many photos as you can cause when you get back it's really easy to delete the extras and really hard to explain sights without them ok? ok bye bye and I'll hopefully talk to you sooner than later.
Thank you Thanks Hon for the call yesterday. I met someone who just came back from Italy. She said Venice is very cool and very strange. I think the water thing freaked her out.
Sounds like fun I'm enjoying reading your journey. What a funtastic experience. Glad you are getting around without too much trouble. Can't wait to read more.
Welcome to my Whirlwind Adventure Travel Blog! I created this blog so that friends and family could keep track of my trip through Europe throughout May, June, and part of July, 10 weeks in total.
I backpacked through France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium throughout the month of May before flying Romania to volunteer for a month at an orphanage near the small village of Valea Screzii 2 hours outside of Bucharest.
I returned to Belgium, Amsterdam, and Paris before flying back to Denver on July 9th, 2006. These are the stories and only a small portion of the phot... full info
