Finally got around to reading the whole thing, your pictures are great and take me back to our trip to Hoi An. What adventurous kids to go on such a trip (I guess the parents get some credit too).
Thank you for sharing your wonderful trip with us. What a great experience for Simon and Siri as well as for you. I look forward to the next installment.
This brought back so many memories, especially of the act of courage it takes to cross the street (and the mesmerizing flow of the traffic), being amazed at what can be carried on a scooter, and the taste of jack fruit. Looks like an amazin g trip!
Looks awesome. Any chance you'll be heading north to China? Description of traffic reminds me of an evening Justin and I spent in Saigon where the entertainment consisted of watching the intersection of two broad boulevards, neither with tr affic lights, as all manner of transport from the dawn of time to the 1990s flowed by. Keep the posts coming!
When ever anyone asked what my favorite country was on this trip, my response was always 'Sri Lanka.' I loved the people (their kindness and resiliency), the natural beauty, and the food. I will go back some day.
I'm Sri Lankan and I didn't find it offensive at all. I can totally understand how a tourist coming from India might experience Sri Lanka as 'india lite'.
Did not like your start up comment about Sri lanka as 'India Light'. Sri certainly isnt India!you might want to know, this is VERY VERY offensive to a Sri lankan!
