"Sometimes the best way to live your life is to choose the experience that will have the most anecdotal value." - National Public Radio.
Hello there. If you are reading this, then you are sure to know me. For instance, you likely know that I started my years in the City of Destiny - also known as Des Plaines - and that I currently spend my time teaching a group of brave and brilliant kids in the city.
But did you know that in fourth grade I made a declaration to all who would listen that I would grow up to be a cowgirl one day. Yes, a genuine girl of the wild...frayed vest and all. Perhaps it was the influence of my parents' farming days that set my mind to this, or maybe an inspiration fostered by the Magic School Bus series. Whatever the origins, adventure has become my forever horizon.
I recently colored in a map with all of the places I've been, expecting to be amazed at just how far I've come since that day. Turns out, I've only seen 5% of the world. Feeling small and humbled, I've since made the obvious conclusion: I want to see the remaining 95%.
Of course I would be thrilled if you read my story. But know that this is just one individual's perspective and that my experiences tell only a fraction of it all. When possible, get out there and find your own story to tell - I'd love to listen.
