After we dropped team 2 off at the airport we stopped for lunch in San Pedro Sula at a Pizza Hut. Afterwards Jose and I were waiting for Elmer at the bus and we met this man who told us amazing stories about his struggles in Cuba and his escape. He had just landed in Honduras after spending nearly two weeks on the ocean in a handmade raft with twelve other men. One of the men didn't make it through the trip. He died of dehydration and from drinking the salt water. This man drank his own urine for days after the water supply ran out. We gave him our leftover food and some water and wished him well. Hola mis amigos in El Estados Unidos!! Today was Valentines and although a little sad over current events in my love life it was ok because I got some candy and Cards from admirers in Pena Blanca and from members of the brigade. The team had a good day too. No more cold cold weather here. We had a break in the clouds and I got sun burnt a little. We had to use the wench to make it up the mountain today. The little village we were in was full of culture and we saw many people. They were very giving and shared their sugar cane with us. peace to everyone.... read more
