Thanks for sharing Hey Gil,
What a wonderful trip. I hope your friend is feeling better now. The pictures were great. I totally want to visit. Oh yeah... how was the Chinese food in Africa? Seems interesting.
Ryan
Thanks for your visit and pictures Gil,
Your experience seems wonderful yet bothersome (fleas, etc.), but overall "magnificent". Your pictures say it all. I was hoping to hear more about the rebels who are tearing down the forest for Charcoal which is sold on the black market. The deforestation caused by rebels is driving the gorillas and their natural habitat back and unfortunately killing any beast or man standing in their way. Conservation efforts have been successful, but only on a minimal basis. I feel that the public needs justification to get involved and seeing your wonderous photos definitely gives just that and is headed in the right direction.
Thank you again,
Ryan M. Rodriguez
Belgrade Belgrade is a dump of city, with the most unfriendly and rude people I have ever encountered.
The hotels are shocking and the eateries are worse. Middle aged war veternans working in the hospitality industry doesnt work.
Food is industrial and thats a compliment.
Everybody is on the make and you need a wheel barrow to pay for anything.
GREAT PICTURES Hi Gil! Joe and I are having a really good time following your blog. Your pictures are AMAZING and you need to do a book when you get back home....if you ever decide to stop traveling for a while!!! Joe is going to Africa with Dragoman, starting Jan 5 in Cairo....our daughter is also starting then and she is going for five months! I have decided I would die in the heat so am staying home and looking at blogs instead!

I'm very glad to meet you and heard your travelling experience, that's really awesome!
Enjoy your travelling and hope to see you in Beijing again somedays in the future:)
Whose that dressed up? Come on Gilbert - I know that Angus had a gigantic rucksack which we humped on and off the truck but are you seriously telling us we lugged a complete dinner jacket outfit all the way to Beijing without him wearing it once when camping in the dessert or going for a massage?
