Good stuff. I am blown away by how many good travel blogs about the Black Hills. Check out www.blackhillstravelblog.com for daily updates about the Black Hills.
Welcome back home Hi Euge! Hi Euge! What an odyssey! I was tempted by $98 round trip air fare to Nebraska today and thought of you. Don't know when I'll be able to drive there, after all! Honored to know someone who actually fulfilled the dream and took the big road trip.
Mountains? You think these are big mountains? You have not been to Alaska yet on yor quest for 50 states. Notice how the more shi-shi the food get the closer to Seattle you get.
How brave are you? So how long will it be before you are brave enough to get your cholesterol checked? The food looks great. Glad you found your fried chicken.
Green with envy... ...but at least my hands are warm. ;-) I've absolutely loved all your posts, and, of course, the neon photos are too kewl for school. What's a moving violation when there's amazing neon signs to capture? Thanks for sharing these!
Back in the West Great pics! Great postcards. Thanks!!!!
I think Buffy-the-Cute-Stuffed-Bison is an excellent addition to the Road Chicks.
Am hoping that you're tuning into NPR when you get close to cities in between listening to country western stations -- SO much news happening while you're gone... Anna Nicole Smith... Anna Nicole Smith... oh, and Anna Nicole Smith... and Anna Nicole Smith's baby... Anna Nicole Smith's baby's father... Anna Nicole Smith's grandmother. Yeeks!!!
Glad to have you back in the West. Enjoy Montana and bring 'er on home. We miss you!!
Ain't the Midwest great! Hey there Euge - loved to read the blog, and thanks for the postcard. The photos are awesome - almost as if I am there, and now I don't need to go to Mississippi!
Great trip Hi, Eugenia,
It is so much fun following your trip. While not nearly so good as being with you for all these great adventures, especially the culinary ones, your descriptions and photos are the very best next thing. Thank you.
Love, Janet
Speed Chicks C -- When we all keep writing "you go girl", we just assumed you'd know that didn't mean 80 in a 65 mph zone. (secretly proud of you)
Perhaps nothing proves you girls "like boys" more than shooting a large, toned bronze statue-butt. If only that inquisitive lady in Texas could see you now...
Cool Chicks Hangin' With Anthony Hey ya'all! That's MY friend, Anthony!! Who knew you were going to be hangin' with Anthony in some fab flat in Savannah, walkin' the streets at night with full Go Cups before headin' over to Daufuskie?!?!?!!? NOW I'm jealous. If I'd known, I'd have mentioned that pre-coating your stomach with Savannah's best key lime pie makes the morning after Go Cups muuuuch nicer!
Join the Club Euge - as it is Saturday, I believe you have very few days left on the road. Get behind the wheel, go as fast as you can, and get yourself a damn speeding ticket. A girl at your age in a red sports car without a speeding ticket? And you say you're from California....?!
No Fair Talladega Speedway! No Fair. Snake and Bake, baby. I wonder if it is the first bronze butt crack on the Travelblog - certainly not the internet.
Nothing worse than getting "ok" BBQ. Too bad, you didn't get into Paula Dean's restaurant...all that sugary southern talk would have worked on your nerves. I love the 3's Company reference.
STILL at the office Wall's BBQ dinner....you are scaring me with those side dishes that look like big globs of cholesterol....and who else do we know who can tell stories as long as there's an audience, with possible minor (or major) embellishments....hmmmmm....eagerly awaiting your triumphant return!
and our gas is the same price as WA AND some poor 8th grade graduate has a job....I have never understood why someone wants to pump their own gas.......the smell, maybe?
Wait until you see your desk So, when you said you got four margaritas instead of two, that was funny. When I saw the photo, I laughed out loud. TEXAS margaritas....they look like tubs o margaritas! I am waiting for a report on Smyrna....so hoping you could give my regards to the policeman/judge speed trap combo. In my experience, you stayed just the right amount of time in Mississippi. Been there, done that. xoxox
Hey there amazing women! It has been great reading your blog and seein' the kick ass photography :)!
Only thing you missed in Amarillo was the American Quarter Horse Association HQ. But, at least now two Wickwire kids can say that ate at The Big Texan Steak House.
Have a great rest of your trip! We are off to the land of Oz.
Elvis Lives You make it sound like Elvis is really dead! But, I know that's not the case because I just read on the 20th page of the latest National Enquirer that he was spotted shopping at a 7-11 in Alabama, picking up a six-pack of Bud Light and heading out in an old Chevy.
I love traveling, writing, and photography so this blog will give me the opportunity to document my three-week cross country road trip and share the experience with friends and family.... full info
