Good to hear from you Eric! Thanks for the update Eric. Glad to hear that you are doing well and are so happy teaching at the university. As you said, that has to make you feel good to be accepted and treated so kindly by everyone there.
We had another great Fair this year, with very seasonable temperatures (which always helps to boost the attendance). The Buckeyes won their opener over Navy yesterday. It wasn't always pretty but they got the job done with the new redshirt freshman QB (JT Barrett) who is replacing the injured senior Braxton Miller (out for the year with shoulder surgery).
Until your next blogpost - take care. Brett
Thanks Brett Cool. I'm glad to hear you had another great fair! Tanya said that you broke an attendance record this year - Awesome! Thanks for the Buckeyes update - I really MISS watching them! I read that Kirk Herbstreit doesn't have much faith in their chances this year after Miller's injury. That sucks! Anyway, Go Bucks! Thanks again and stay in touch!
wow Hi Eric, wow your new place looks great! and what great views you have. it sound like things are going good there for you both. keep me posted oh and another thing you missed the Fair...... talk to you soon Andy
Splendid Thanks for the detail, Big E! Sounds like you're "blending in" just fine. Keep up the great writing and good luck! Pictures are wonderful too.
Great views Hi Eric;
Sure is good to hear from you. Your apartment is breath taking to say the least. It sure is good to hear from you and see you are doing well. Sure miss you at the fair but looks like you made a good move.
Mike
Thanks Mike. It's great to hear from you also. I thought about you guys this year. I miss your great food! Izmir has an International Fair coming up at the end of Aug, so I'll have to get some pictures for you to see how it compares to the Ohio State Fair :-)
Eric...I\'m so thrilled you\'ve experienced the range of educational experiences...in reading your information it brought back many memories...So happy you had the chemistry/connection/clicking moments which carry over and keep us as \"hooked educators\" when experiences are more challenging...
The mug is beyond cool...totally a WOW!!!
Hi Eric Thanks for the update Eric. It sounds like things are going very well for you in Turkey. It's got to be rewarding as a teacher to know your students appreciate you so much. Congratulations!!!
Hello Eric:
So nice to hear from you and that you are doing well! The news here in the states about Istanbul is not pleasant and when I heard of the recent activity there, I grew concerned for you.
Sounds as though Turkey is treating you well and you are treating Turkey even better! Glad to hear that things are going so well for you and that you have adjusted without incident!
Look forward to hearing more from you!
That's what teaching's all about! Eric: Thanks for the update. Glad things have 'perked' for you this past year. Looks like you've found your Trukish groove. Can't wait for the next episode. I'll look for Turkish 'fair food' here this year!
Ohio Expo Hey Eric - Go Bucks! This is Michigan week and we are all hoping for a win. Glad to hear you are adjusting to and enjoying your Turkish life. You and Alev deserve the good life. Your daily challenges seem to be lightened by your attitude. Take care - know that we miss you but wish you only the best.

Thanks for sharing Eric
What a fabulous story you have to share and I so appreciate you giving me a glimpse into your adventure. Please keep us informed as your new life continues to take shape. What an opportunity.
Better start work on that guest room! Can't wait to come and visit you and Alev in Izmir! Helen Keller said that "Life is either a great adventure or it is nothing". Enjoy the great adventure Eric!
Nice Blog Cuz! So glad I finally got to your Blog, Cuz. So great that you're doing this. I'd love to forward it to Mom- I know she'd love reading it since she worries about her traveling nephew! ; )
Hi Eric! I am just now getting caught up on things since the Fair has ended. Enjoyed your travel post. Glad to hear things have gone well so far. The town certainly has some beautiful scenery. Can't imagine what it's like being in a country where you know very little of the language - yikes! I trust you've discovered the Turkish word for beer. :-)
Wishing you the best with your new job and new life in Turkey!
The Move I'm not sure how you did it or if I could have done it. I hope it all works out and you guys are happy! Good luck with the new career. Hopefully I'll see ya over there sometime. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your place and where you live.
Cool! Cool! Cool! Good to hear from you buddy and glad your trip went well. It still seems surreal - all the way across the planet! I admire your sense of adventure Eric. Thanks for giving us a view of the world that most of us will probably never experience personally. Looking forward to more posts.
