Afternoon of 23rd October 2008 - My Birthday After our cruise on the harbour this morning, we then went to the wonderful Sky Tower. It is the tallest tower in the southern hemisphere. At 328 metres (over 1,000 ft) it is taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Sydney Tower in Australia. From 220 metres above the city you get the magnificent 360 degrees views of the surrounding landmarks such as the Harbour Bridge, Mt. Eden, Mt Wellington, over to the various beaches and many islands. I then did the Sky Walk - described as “living on the edge”. You get decked out in special suits and walk around the 1.2 metre wide ring - no handrails and you are 192 metres up. But, you are in the full body harness and overhead safety
