merry Christmas Jason,
Merry Christmas brother. I glad things are going so well in Korea. I as happy to read of your tamale making. My grandmother would send me a dozen every Christmas before she passed. I miss homemade tamales. Take care of yourself. Ihsv, paul
Beautiful photos of Temple and Buddhas. Loved the closeups. The stone pagodas are wonderful. I like the building with the mushroom cap roof too. Your blog stirred my interest in the teaching of Buddha again. Thanks.
badass i'm glad you're taking advantage of the cultural sites like this and not just hanging out in pubs all night. been wondering what was going on with you.
vacation vacation I've been readying your blogs since you left the US and i thought to my self 'he'll soon get use to the 'hole in the wall' toilet' lol. How is that going? My husband and I are coming there for vacation from japan, lets meet for drinks and Kimichi...no dogs though. My japanese friends warned me about that.
Josh, living abroad was one of the best decisions I've made. Many of my students don't want to learn english because it is difficult, but I can tell those that do try really do see a benefit in it. When I asked two of my top students what they want to be, they said English author and Korean English translator. Rather impressive. Watching how hard my co workers and a few of my students try gives me plenty of motivation to learn their language. Let the family know that I've been thinking about them, especially over the past week.
Thanks Paul, the food is one of the most exciting aspects of living abroad. Congrats on entering your final year of law school. It doesn't feel all that long ago that we were both sitting in Judge Low's litigation class.

sweet blog Hey Jason-
Love the blog man! It looks like you're having some awesome adventures overseas. I hope all is well and it's great to follow along with you as you learna foreign language and culture. Sounds like there is a good population of english speaking people-it's funny how almost every country in the world bothers to learn english at a young age; Americans can barely afford to learn one foreign language for a couple years in High School...
Anyway-take care, have fun! Looking forward to the next time we get to catch up. Papa and Anna were in town for Aunt Lee's funeral. It was good seeing them and we talked about you and your adventures. Glad to see you're enjoying your trip!
Take Care
Josh
Hilarious I love reading your blog, hilarious. I hope you racked up some major pointage on that date. You are such a good sport. Seriously sometimes there is really nothing else you can do but have a good laugh. She sounds awesome to do that to you. :) She is way cool.
So I am trying to get an idea of how loud the stadium is, ever been to a monster truck rally? Is it like that where you need or want ear plugs?
개블 Gae-Bool Some stranger just sent me a message about what this is. I stand corrected, it turns out to be a type of spoon worm.

food I'm glad you are being so brave about the food, those are stories you'll be able to tell for ever. The ghana match sucked. the stadium looked awesome. keep the updates coming.

개블 Ok, Jason, I did a translation and you ate dog? You are incredibly brave and adventurous and probably really impressed your date. Your blog was an enjoyable read once again. Thanks.
Love your new blog! Hi Jason, I enjoyed your emails which Anna and George shared. Now with your new blog, we can follow and learn about the Korean culture through your eyes. I'll keep this note short for now. Just want to tell you to keep up the great work. Please hi five all the kids. Let them know California says hey!

Hi Jason, I thoroughly enjoyed your entry and photos. In Los Angeles, the Chinese celebrate the Lotus Festival too. It is not a religious ceremony but is centered around the blooming of the lotus flower and combined with the Dragon Boat Races held at Echo Park Lake. The Chinese have a lot of celebrations and as a family we attended many of the events with parades, firecrackers and lots of noisy musical instruments. Your photos reminded me of that time. It sounds like you have hooked up with some nice people but all that Soju, whew...how did you make it home? The Dwen Jeon Chigae soup sounds good. Maybe George and I will go for Korean food next week. In the meantime, I will try to check your site more frequently for updates. Keep writing!!!!
Soju in the States Certainly can but after import taxes, it's like 8 bucks a bottle. You might like it. It's really kinda tasteless. Sorry to agree with you but I think you probably would starve. The food definately takes some getting used to, as even for me it did. Now, though I really like it. For the most part it's healthy and it's always a lot cheaper than western foods.
Tutor Trevor? I'm sorry I'm not following you on this one. What do you mean?
TANKED ha ha I like the word choice, I need to make it out there to see you, it would be a good time! I would probably starve though, ha ha I tried lobster for the first time last week! I cannot say that I liked it, but I at least dared to try it, its a start! Can you find soju in the states, it just sounds like it taste horrible? Ha ha but I want to try it! The weather here has been horrible!! It rains when I am off work, and the sun shines when I am working, it's driving me nuts! Is it warm enough to go camping there? Seems like you've met some friends to get out and do things with? How far from where you live, are there places to hike? I've been going up adams lately, but its been raining a lot! Mom and I went on a motorcycle ride, with Rico and B-rad! I was actually pretty fun we went up to Morgan to this biker bar! I took Mom to Lagoon on mothers day, we ended up just buying season passes. The cost of two day passes was the same as one season pass. I figured if we go once more this summer, it would cost the same! It also gives us something to do together.
Oh yeah, I think that you should try and tutor Trevor, at least see if he is willing to learn! Their family has been great to you, and you could have fun with it! I bet you could learn a lot from him as well! What grade is he in? Let me know what you decide.
Take care!
Jason!!! This is so cool Jason! That festival looks amazing, I wish I could of been there to see it too! I start school again on June 7th call me soon, I wanted to ask you some questions about this semester.
Take care!
